  • Strongman comps

I want to be the resident strongman here. I haven't a clue what it takes, kind of training, if I'm even strong enough to be competitive.

Who knows anything about the subject? Id like to pick your brain.

I'm ditching a lot of static training for dynamic/complex training. I'm not a bodybuilder, never going to be. Time to give that dream of everyday six packs and chicken breast up.

    Re: Strongman comps

hey supr, i went to georgia one year with a guy from on this board and we watched a amatuer strongman. the contest sounded easy. lifting a 500 lb tire, pulling a bus, picking up 225 lb barrel, the tough one those air tanks with hooks to hold on to weighed 250lbs and u had to carry them as far as you could in least amount of time. i think u , as i know u and how strong u are in the squat and deads, could do good in that show. but all the guys had troulble with the airtanks. but you had to work your way up the poundages i forgot to say. so grip strength, back strength, core strength . anything you need in muscles to move that kind of weight. i think i could of done it and placed but who knows. my friend would of smoked it as hes a strongman. so look up or get ahold of someone that knows when the next strong man is and train the muscles u need for it. if ur talking about bench, deads, squatt i have no clue how to powerlift.
all information is for entertainment purposes only and i dont condone the illegal use of steroids! iam just on here for fun and anything said is fictitious not real!!!!!!!!

Derek poundstone style of strongman. I like the look of powerlifting but not as much as strongman. I never use straps and always kill my grip. Did 50ft farmer's walk with 405 and it made me crave some sort of sadistic workout. My hands felt like they were ran over.

As always, your inputs rock. Thanks unclem.
