Tweetthis is a question that i'm totally ignorant on the answer to and it bothers me...but what is the reasoning behind listing LBGT by saying gays and lesbians?

lesbians ARE GAY TOO...why is it separated? just doesn't make sense to me as to why it's broken down separately like that

a girl i was engaged to and was with in my mid 20's went to an all girls private college where there were alot of lesbians (mostly butch)...she was good friends with one and said that her friend said it's not that they don't like dick, cause they like dick,...they just don't like the man attached to it...

just hazarding a guess here.....'gay'...meaning, well, maybe their not real upset about being a homo. so multiple would be, of course, 'GAYS"

i mean, maybe that could have worked out different and they would now be known as 'glums' and lesbians.
