      Default creatine ethyl ester

Every time I take it, I get get sick. I tried it last summer and after 4-5 days I was sick. Then over the winter, same thing. I had bulk nutritions powder, but I just bought some from true protein last week.

I started taking 4.5 grams every day on sunday. I am now sick again witha sore throat and I'm extremely tired. It's hard to believe that this is a coincidence. I think I'm never taking it again

Has anyone had these sides before???????

Well CEE safety or even its effectiveness hasn't been examined by any study so its more or less a 'take at your risk product' as are most of the cutting edge sport supplements. The only actual information can be seen from the patent documents that have reference to two animal studies with CEE. However, I find it doubtful that it will be harmful since when the CEE dissociates in the body it releases ethanol and free creatine, with ethanol being approximately 1/10 of a normal ****tail (according to this patent information). But maybe your body is more sensitive to this ethanol release than others which may explain the side effects.

CEE is claimed to be superior to regular creatine due to its added lipophilic properties which may allow passive diffusion into the cells. However, for this to actually happen, CEE would have to remain intact throughout the bloodstream (where esterases are present) all the way up to absorption into the muscle cells. It would appear that if esterases removed the ethyl group prior to absorption, it would be no more effective than your standard creatine products.
