What I was implying is that Oreilly doesn't know what he is talking about on the subject of economics, thus he has no business knocking Ron Paul on it who is actually on par with many economics professors as far as knowledge of the subject goes. The reason some think Paul did horrible the other night is because they don't understand what he was talking about. Everything he said was true, but most people don't have that level of knowledge on the complexities involved.

As for Fox News and the Republican Party, they are indeed trying to single Paul out. This much is obvious, otherwise they wouldn't say anything about him. Paul has a grassroots movement larger than any of our lifetimes, and the military supports him overwhelmingly. Remember that last Presidential race Paul received more donations from military than all other candidates. That alone should say something. He is a force to be reckoned with, thus the media is trying to shit him down out of fear he might pull too much support. Paul is a Republican in the strictest since, but the party is no longer conservative. I wish more people would read nobel prize winner Hayek's book The Road to Serfdom. In it he discusses the path to totalitarianism and that once the two parties are after the same ends it means you are on the path to totalitarianism. Well, that is hastily becoming the case. I am an Austrolibertarian, which means I am a subscriber to the philosophy and economics of the Austrian School of Economics (Hayek was an Austrian Economist). I have decided that I am not a Libertarian, nor am I a Republican, but a firm believer in individualism and limited government intervention in the economy. I side with Republicans on most stuff and Democrats on zero.

Paul is hard for many people to understand because they don't look at government in the true since of the Republican platform, which is limited government. The party has not stood for limited government for several decades now, with the exception for the most part by Reagan, whom Paul was a supporter of by the way. But like I said, if people would read up on Paul and learn why he holds the views he does, and how closely he resembles Jefferson and Washington, they would realize he is a solid politician. That's what I think anyway.

I agree that not all of Paul's ideas are necessarily the most popular, but the few things that people don't agree with him on are far less hurtful than that of the other politicians who keep getting elected. But Republicans for the most part do not want a limited government. If that isn't clear to everyone then they aren't aware of what limited government means. The primary reason I do not consider myself a Republican is because they stopped supporting limited government. If they were to go back to it then I would probably consider myself a Republican again. And another thing I am tired of hearing from the GOP is fiscal conservatism. That surely is obvious to most that it is not being supported. But I am criticized by some for holding those views, which are supposed to be held by the GOP. Go figure.

If he makes it to the Primaries he would have a better chance of beating Obama than anyone. Unfortunately, he won't make it there. But that is what amazes me from the GOP, they talk like they just want someone who will beat Obama but then they try to marginalize anyone who might could do it that they don't like. Newt is another one they are doing that too, not just Paul, which surprised the heck out of me. Oh and Palin too. At the end of the day though rest assured whoever makes the ballot will be corrupt and a supporter of BIG government. I hope I am wrong on that though.
