TweetI had a Colt King Cobra and a Smith & Wesson .357. I think both are great guns, yet I do tend to prefer Smith too. However, in a revolver I would trust even a Taurus over a semi. There is no chance of jamming with a revolver. Thus, I don't think you would have a need to worry about the Colt, especially when considering that Colt makes a darn fine hand gun anyway. I assume you are talking revolvers here. Semis are more reliable these days but to be completely sure a revolver is safest imo. Yet I have never had a single jam in my H&K USP .45 or my Springfield XDM 9mm.
