TweetI like the range of motion dbells provides I feel that I worked harder with dbells or that my muscles work harder.
Tweeti dont use a barbell for chest ever. dumbells and hammerstrength machines and cables (cross overs). since droping barbell completely i dont have an issue with my right shoulder anymore...none at all!!

I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
TweetDUMBELLS HANDS DOWN...pretty much just use a bar for deads and squats
TweetDumbells. I have my own gym and I can go heavy with dumbbells without a spotter.
They call you paranoid until the worst happens, and in the aftermath they will call you a hero.
TweetBarbell for sure. DBs are good for symmetry though and I use them regularly. But if I had to pick one or the other it would be barbell.
TweetBarbell all the way
TweetIts not a matter of preference but what is needed to train. For all out power barbell is needed. To build a function body that all the little support muscles are utilized then the dumbell rules. All of us no matter what our goals are thrive on the premise of change. YOu will not create change staying with the same exercizes done the same way. You need to constantly change them. I may do Barbell presses for a month or two , then I realize to continue making progress and prevent a lop sided physiique I need to also use dumbells for presses too. No one should make any exercise a favorite, but use them all according to your capability and goals. If you are an athlete and you want to become strnoger and more powerful in a sport - the functionality from all angles needs to be adressed. It would be foolish to stick with only barbells. All that weird core stuff you hear people talk of- should be a part of everyones routine. There are things that powerlifters do that would enhance what a body builders needs and does - training is to develop and change, not stagnate
