I bought a lower receiver for $70 and bought a complete upper kit for $550. It was 3 years ago but it only cost me $620 to build a complete AR. If you look on Gunbroker.com you can find a lot of people selling AR kits. I went with a Rock River Arms upper kit. They are winning a lot of government contracts because of their reliability and durability. I have been very happy with my purchase. An AR-15 is a very nice gun. I'm sure you will love it. Ya, def. need better grip than stock. I like the ergo but best bet is to try em all out before you buy so you got what's comfortable for you cause that's all that matters.
