I already stated the fact that we are a republic a while back. We were never intended to be a democracy, but instead a republic safeguarded by the constitution. Our voting process is democratic, but once again safeguarded by our constitution. However, the scum we elect have been referring to our country as a democracy for several decades now. That is a dangerous path to go down, for once we become a pure democracy our freedom will be lost and never regained without a civil war. The recent health care bill was voted on in a pure democracy fashion, where 51% of the voters stripped away the individual rights of all. A pure democracy always ends in dictatorship, which is why I fear we may end up with Obama as a dictator if he continues to succeed in changing the laws and increasing the powers of the executive branch. This is also why I am against nation building such as we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. All we are doing is building a bunch of democracies that will eventually be dictatorships and most likely merge with the United Nations. Why else would the UN be so hellbent on setting up democracies everywhere. Obviously they don't give a damn about individuals, and they support socialism to the maximum extent, thus they are in favor of building more democracies.

People really need to do their homework and read what the founding fathers had to say about democracy and how it is one of the most dangerous forms of government in the world. Democracy is how Obama will bring us cap and trade, amnesty, ban the 1st and 2nd amendments, and take away every other freedom we currently have. Anyone who doubt this needs to take a look at how health care was passed.
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. George Washington

yeah. on point Jsjs. I guess I just want to throw it past democracy. We are watching democracy in motion. There's hardly any reason to refer to socialism as you watch the gears of democracy at work. It is one in the same basically. We actually have reached a dictatorship as well, or all this shit that's getting passed, would not be. Democracy/dictatorship. We were warned about it, as Jsjs said, by our founding fathers. I know of a couple commis that have greeted the thought of democracy.

The great men that bled for freedom and this great land. Our founding fathers. They had no democracy in mind, as stated^. The Constitution protects The Republic. No part of that document referrs to a democracy. "The Republic..." By forming a republic that could remain by free willed intellects, they had as close to heaven on earth as it gets. Then the brilliant progressive minds took over. It's been very democratic of Americans...voting our liberties away, appointing leftist to office, and supporting government growth. Our founders "rolled over" 150yrs ago. Face down. They couldn't watch this shit.

People's minds have been corrupted by our school to think that we are a democracy and that democracy stands for freedom. Under a democracy the state will vote away all of our rights with no respect to our individual god given rights, those that the bill of rights guarantees us. People just don't get it and probably never will. I spend the vast majority of my free time learning about history, politics, and economics; however, most people are simply not willing to do so even to the smallest degree. This I believe is the reason we are headed down the path to totalitarianism. People are simply unaware of the consequences of big government. Those on the right claim to favor smaller government, yet they too seek to have regulations imposed also but for more conservative causes. Conversely, those on the left favor bigger government to regulate for their causes. Both the right wing and left wing are supporters of bigger government, but in different areas. Ironically, those on the right claim they align there views with those of the founding fathers, yet the founding fathers were against political parties and believed minimal government intervention was best.

I would suspect that the majority of Americans are not aware of the views of our founding fathers. For instance, George Washington was an Independent and Thomas Jefferson was more of a Libertarian. However, Washington despised the idea of political associations and explained the consequences of them in his farewell address in 1796. Below is an excerpt from Washington's farewell address.

"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. George Washington

      Thanks for the excerpt.
History that we were taught, depending on your state's guidlines. Some got more actual history than others, but history is being picked apart. The most valuable aspects are being taken out with the trash.
I would love to be able to learn more history at a better rate than I'm able to find, and read-up on. I get such a good feeling reading up on our founding father's writings, teaching, and great knowledge left for everyone. They did allot of writing. It's a damn shame that something so valuable to our nation's youth, adults and well-being is covered up. Washington was so correct. Damn, those men knew well. True intellects. If George Washington only saw the polluted minds left in the wake of the broken government split party system. Government propaganda is the worst for the people. Propoganda has done so much damage to people's ability to reason, and make responsible decisions. Government propoganda, over many years, has led people to build walls around themselves and their families blocking out good information. The Founding Father's fundamentals, that were once those of Americans, have drifted far off base. That bs propaganda is one of the most dangerous tools for the government against freedom and our Republic.

Accurate history is very valuable to our nation's youth; however, that is precisely why the government distorts it. The government is not your friend, it is not to be trusted, and it does not look out for your best interests. Once again, Washington warned us of this.

      "Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force;
like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master."
      - George Washington

The founding fathers as well as Lincoln were prophet like in the things they warned us or of. Lincoln did so when he said: "America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms it will be because we destroyed ourselves." And low and behold, we have an administration that is working to destroy our freedoms, and couldn't be done any faster if a true enemy took over our country. Another interesting quote comes from J. Edgar Hoover, former Director of the FBI who said: The individual is handicapped by coming face-to-face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists." That is a powerful statement to make coming from the head of intelligence. And one from Thomas Jefferson: "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

The founders and many others from our history knew full well the dangers of government, and that is was only a matter of time before it would come after our rights.

Lincoln is still a complicated president for me but I am learning more about him currently. But yes, he said it best in that quote. Not sure what you mean about Jefferson though, please explain.

I mean nothing more than what I said Js. Thomas Jefferson logged allot of very good quotes. He wrote allot, and had a very strong view of the right to firearms. He explains how critical a tool a firearm is, and, if I have this correct, Jefferson felt that to be the most valuable right to maintaining a wholesome Republic and people. Jefferson went on extensively about our liberties and vigilance to maintain them.

Hence; Jefferson has many great quotes and many fans of his writings and reason. Very smart man. As was the others that founded The Republic.

I wish, more than anything, that real people. People that weren't born with the silver spoon, and that are well informed, and all about The Constitution could take the reins. Instead of the opposite, which are ruining our country now.

I appreciate that Fitter. I would love to have that opportunity; however, I feel that I will be able to do more through writing and perhaps talk radio one day. I am working on a few projects at the moment. Aside form my blog my brother and I decided recently to write a book on economics, history, and politics, which will keep me busy for a while. Also, I am working to get on board with a Libertarian think tank some day where I could write columns that would reach a larger audience. For now though I have a lot more reading and research to do. I have pondered the thought of running for something local but it would be very hard to tolerate being around the kind of scum who are in public office. For the most part, politicians are the worst kind of people out there, no better than mobsters imo. I pride myself for having principles, morals, and a conscience and wonder how it would be to work around those who don't. But we have to ask ourselves why there are so few politicians with good principles and morals in office. I believe it is because once the elitists who run this world find out an honest man or woman is running they pour all their money and resources into smearing and beating them before they even run.
