I think it's unfortunate that our society has come to the point that if something isn't working or different in a day, then it has failed. Honestly, I don't know politics that well and I really don't care about them because they are based on money and power. Because of the internet and other technological advances, we--mostly Americans-- want things NOW. As with anything, things take time. Some things take longer than others. What's the saying? "Rome wasn't built in a day". I've heard that Obama's rating has gone down a little. I think everyone perceived him to change everything the week after he took office. Everyone wants healthcare, everyone wants education, everyone WANTS. Do people not remember the budget crises that Bush put us in? You can't expect Obama to change that in the short amount of time he's been in office. I'm sure there are some things he could have cleaned up by now and there have already been some things as well. Good grief! Realize that everything takes time, give someone a chance, and don't forget there are two sides to every story. We only know what the media tells us but not everything that is going on. A big mess sometimes takes longer to clean up then it does to make it. Thank you

Shyt happens, whatcha gonna do?? Another reason I don't like politics is people get in bad moods and get all defensive when, in fact, it is completely out of our control. Democrats, republicans, the left, the right... labels. In all reality, AGAIN, they are based off of money and power and not really looking out for anyone but themselves in the end. I can appreciate the other side and all opinions though. Like I said, I don't follow it closely--due to the fact that it's out of my control so I don't want to get worked up for no reason-- but I really do think that there should be ONE COMMON goal and EVERYONE should work toward it, which is to get us out of debt and the recession altogether. It's so much easier said than done.

Everyone knows here how passionate I am about this issue. Ive been saying all along that this scum bag was a lie and cheat and ive been right. He has sank our country. If we want to get out of debt then that scum bag president should stop spending and lower taxes but he wont he will continue to spend and drive us deeper into debt and now he may want another stiulis part 2. lower taxes is the first step and he wont. he will now raise them a promise he said he wouldnt do.he said unemployment wouldnt go higher then 8% when the stimulis was passed well guess what its at 9.5 and increasing.what we should do is get the word out and educate the people who bowed to obama during the election and beleived his lies. Ive been out there big time telling peole about this scum bag and now peole are turning against him and now have seen his lies.

Excellent point Gym Tigress...I have really become apolitical in the last year or so, because, as you have said, its not something I can control, so getting myself worked up into a fit over politics is not healthy. The last time I went ballistic over politics was Sonia Sotameyer. I started to see that nobody else cared about it at all, so I stopped getting worked up over it. She will be on the supreme court. She has a communist background in La Raza..Oh well, nobody cares.

I know what I can control and I have chosen to focus my attention there. I figure if I can make my corner of the world a better place for people, then Ive done my part to make the world a better place. Thanks

Yeah but most politicians will sacrifice our long term success for the short term, i.e. the perception that they are doing SOMETHING, e.g. taking over companies, bailing out industries, suffocating private enterprise, raising taxes and infringing freedoms is doing SOMETHING but it is damaging our long term future.

I don't need to give Obama more time to know he is going to fail, his ideology is irrational; most liberals are more pragmatic than they are committed to a liberal ideology. Obama is the opposite, he is committed to his ideology, even when he knows he's destroying our nation but he thinks his ideology is fair and just. He thinks he can create prosperity with brute force but brute force can only hinder prosperity.

I think it is typical and predictable for people to get in a bad mood when the majority of our society thinks they should be able to infringe the rights of individuals with the force of government; whether it is democrats wanting to discriminate against the "rich" to help the "poor" or whether it is the republicans wanting to discriminate against women's rights and gays.

I can understand the passion people have about certain subjects. Shoot, I appreciate that! We need people to be passionate about different things to make our world go round. I guess there are certain things that I perceive as someone who is not into politics is summed up in one word -- negativity. Seeing how people bash others regardless if they are right about the facts or not-- just gives me more reason NOT to care about that subject. That's just me. Because it's not something I can do anything about I would rather look at the bright side or stay away altogether--which is what I have chosen. Looking at the facts, Obama might fail, but what if he doesn't? Damn, remember when the Rockies weren't suppose to make the playoffs? Or when Michael Phelps broke as many records as he did? They were not suppose to but against all odds they prevailed. I suppose I just hope and will keep my belief that it can't get worse than it is. I'm with Dzone... I'll just try to keep my end clean and working toward a positive future where I can =)

All well put and Klash said alot of it. You may say Bush put us here and you are somewhat right, but he got handed plenty that was headed down hill from Clinton(you remember him- the lying cheating President before Bush). The difference being that Bush , no matter how unpopular, did what he thought was right for the long term of the Country. He never would have had the Govt. take control of Private sector companies. The people you have in power now have , in a time of recession/depression, have grown the Govt.- spent more than any other President- trying to overhaul a healthcare system(with no way of funding it)- put out a stimulous package that has accomplished nothing but more debt-apologized for America(WTF?)- Bowed to the Saudi King(again WTF?)- wants to sit down at lunch with known terrorist to discuss whatever(does he honestly believe we haven't tried to deal with these folk over the last few decades??)- appointed more crooks than I've seen in some time to hold high raking offices-Never served not "1" day in uniform for this Country(still not sure if he is even eligible to be President)- do I really need to continue. But I guess let me ask this question, because this is where I'm really confused: In your own household, when you are out of money and they are cutting your hours at work and your not sure how to make ends meet- what would you do?? Grow the size of your house? Take on a record amount of debt from a foreign lended? Start new programs that cost money? Spend more money than you ever have in the past? Please tell me there are still some half intellegent people left in the God Foresaken World. Do you thinkAmerica was made the great Country that it is(fixing to be was) because the Govt. promised to give you something for nothing? Do you honestly believe that will encourage people to strive harder to better themselve when all the Govt. want to do is take more from those who work Damn hard to get ahead and make a better life and they just Tax the total SH*T out of us to give my hard earned moey to some lazy bastard that doesn't want/have to work because they give him money for doing nothing? How about I have to pass a piss test to keep my job and they just get a check in the mail with no drug test and if they spt out a few more kids- their check will be bigger. Please tell me "1" Govt. run program that is making money/progress- just one, because Medicare and Social Security are going broke. Maybe this Cap and Trade he just passed will help---NOT, it will only drive every Oil/Chemical Co. in the country to relocate to another Country that doesn't have the strict requirments to operate- then guess what- more fricking job losses and I mean MASSIVE. If you voted for this Frickin Idiot- you voted to completely DESTROY America

Honestly, I don't believe my vote counts. All I know is that when Bush ran and he got into office, it was because of a scam. How convenient that the state that had trouble with votes was his brother's state. PLUS, I lost my job because they started exporting work to non-American citizens over seas. Who was in office at that time? Not to mention who are the people WE call to take care of stuff and can't understand a damn word they say? In all aspects, all I'm saying is ALL politicians CAN be and PROBABLY ARE scum! You can label them democrats, republicans, yellow, orange, whatever, but all I'm saying is make the best of what has become the worst. Otherwise, our country will be even more based on hate and aggression--- it would be sad that our kids see that as a way to view and talk about others. I would like to see that kids learn how to make a difference with things they can control and not see bickering and pointing fingers as a solution. Rather than downgrading others as the person he is, do look at the facts; however, state them as a cause and effect instead of using them for judging his character because there are two sides to every story and we don't REALLY know what his side might be.

All in all, I appreciate all the information everyone has voiced. I think that's great that you all are in tune with it and understand it. I apologize for my ignorance in politics, but just as I stated before... everyone has their reasons for their beliefs and why they feel as they do. =)

You are right- they ARE all crooked, but you must pay attention to core values. Republicans believe in SMALL Govt.- they believe marriage is between 1 Man and 1 Woman- they believe in cutting the working mans taxes because that HIS money, not the Govt.'s- They believe in tax breaks for large Co's to keep them here in the US- small things like that

I saw a report on how America has become a people of "instant gratification". That's become a little cliche. Yes, information is traveling across the world at the speed of light, we have remote access to vehicles, even cranking them, etc, etc, you can go on & on. I don't think America's terrible economic and political situation falls in line with that "instant gratification' cliche.
You do have a point, Gym Tigress, that I agree very much with. This Obama guy fits right in with your gripe of the need for an instant fix. Instead of calming the public with good speeches and promises. He sets everyone up for worse waters to come. And right out of the gate, he hands out the largest amount of money known to man, putting our grandchildren in debt. He raises taxes on people that are most broke of all. People that literally count pennies are already paying more taxes. And these are people that have no money left over. They don't know what "spending money" even means, and this president hits 'em hard...right off the bat.
Instead of reaching for an instant fix, like Obama did. He should have let some things run their course. matter of fact, that whole costly giant government, with all the new bureaucracy is an instant failure and instantly costs allot more of mine and your money. So is that helping or hurting the economy? Is that solving or adding to the nation's problems? And it's all happened, and happening, almost instantly! and the only people with gratification are the ones in government positions.

When you have people that are bashing Obama based on his use of government intervention and then those same people advocate government intervention in a different area, you have blatant hypocrisy and I agree that is "republicans" being negative just because he isn't part of the "right" team but your analogy doesn't fit. Athletes have to train and learn so they can perform better than their competition - they know what they have to do, they have to be the most efficient athlete they can be. You could compare athletes to the private sector though but Obama and government would be the judges and/or umpires; making it impossible for the American team to be competitive against the world and that is what they are doing to the American economy, they are suffocating it by hamstringing and/or controlling Phelps so someone in the special olympics will have his turn in the lime light, i.e. what liberals call being "fair" or "leveling the playing field".

To me it's like watching scientists trying to get a man to the moon while ignoring mathematics; it's a train wreck in progress. Obama can't succeed unless he reconsiders his doctrine and tries to make it more consistent with reality.

When I see your post; I see someone that aligns themselves with team democrat. Which is fine but philosophically team democrat and team republican are on the same team - they just make substitutions against team freedom that the unorganized American citizen plays for. Both dems and republicans just want to force government into different parts of your life but both are in agreement that the government should be forced into your life and as long as people out there support substitutions that they percieve as the "lesser of the evils" the only battle there will be is what party will be on the field when the citizens lose the ball game (i.e. a voided constitution and any chance of getting our freedoms back) and it won't really matter if it is a Bush or Obama team; either way freedom loses.

Your job got exported more than likely because it got too expensive to operate in America with federal and state taxes, minimum wage, complying with state and federal regulations, etc.

      Gym Tigress,
See here is an example (no offense deepsouth); Republicans that state they believe in small government and then also state that government should define marriage only support the slogan "small government"; government involving itself in needless private matters is intrusive and is in opposition to individual rights. Limited government is a role to protect individual rights and not to be intrusive against them no matter if the majority supports the intrusion or not. Our government was designed to protect the individual from the majority. Government is the use of force and should not be used to discriminate against any citizen, period, even if and especially when the majority think they are immoral.
