Tweetsorry to hear! I hope the new year brings yall better luck
TweetWe had no other choice. My husband's crew finished up their last job. He's been unable to come up with any more work, so we had to lay them all off. It sucks... right here at Christmas. We just don't have any idea when another jobs going to come along. Last year he didn't get work until April.

TweetSo we were waiting on the final payments from two different jobs and we can't pay our employees until they send the money. My husband went to the property manager to pick up the check and one of our employees stops him in the parking lot. He gets up in my husband's face and is yelling at him wanting his pay. My husband explains that's why he is there to do the final walk through and pick up the check, so he can pay him. The guy continues to yell at him. My husband said that he moved forward reared up and spread his lats out and told him he'd better calm down because if the property manager has to call the police then no one will get paid. He backed his scrawny butt off then.
Stupid DA almost kept us from getting paid. I just hope he didn't ruin our chances of getting another job from them. They have a pool that need renovating.
TweetThat's unfortunate for you and your husband especially this time of year. Sadly it's a sign of the times. As said hopefully something will come up soon and you can bring your people back.
I get laid off every winter here, the weather is just to bad to do alot outside. But I plan for it so it's not so bad.

TweetIt's just seem so strange because in the past he is usually booked up around the holidays with commercial jobs. Around here the plants close down for two weeks and he comes in and does his work while everything is shut down.
We had restaurants closing here too including Fuddruckers which is a pretty big chain. There are a lot of restaurants that are closing on Sundays too keep expenses down and cut operating cost.
TweetWell they just announce that the jobless rate went up to 10.5% for this area. They said the big 3 employers for this area Beaulieu of America, Mohawk Industries and Shaw Industries — to laid off thousands of workers and close several plants. So many people out of work right now...
Tweetseriously, what is going to happen to these people when their unemployment benefits run out?????
TweetIts sad, but lets keep our faith that things will turn around
