Tweetbump!!! Dreamweaver is the Shiznit!!!
TweetI know I've asked this before but what are some "user friendly" website design programs?
I need to create a website. I've been putting this off for years but now it's time to do it and I don't want to pay someone thousands of dollars to do it. I just need a program and some time to play with it.
TweetIs it difficult to use?
Do I have to know html to use it?
Don't get me wrong, I can do it if the instructions are clear of if I have someone show me once but I'm completely ignorant to this stuff.

Tweett-man homestead has their own well made web-page builder. they also offer domain names...etc..
i normally use front page
TweetI built a site for my class reunion using a program I found on clearance at Target called Web Easy Professional - it was on clearance because it was the previous year's version. You don't need to know any HTML to use this program - you simply lay out each page as you want it to look and it generates the HTML code for you. The program also contains a FTP utility to upload your pages to the hosting server.
BTW - this type of program is commonly referred to as a "WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get)" program. I've also heard of a program called Microsoft Front Page, but haven't seen it.
TweetFront Page sucks compared to Dreamweaver. Though Front Page is easier to use since its your typical Microsoft software.
Tweeti use dreamweaver as well....
knowing HTML is helpful but you can get by with out.
Tweetwhat are you trying to do T-Man?? maybe i could build you a template in dreamweaver and then you could update it
TweetIs going to be FrontPage the easiest for someone just learning how to design? It's very simple and will make simple website. You won't be able to do anything complex.
I currently use GoLive. It's pretty easy to use.
TweetHere's the deal....
The appraisal business could very possibly be taking a turn for the worse come January 2009. So, in addition to doing real estate appraisals I have also been doing these floorplan sketches for this company out of Illinois. Well, the owner of the floorplan company is going to turn Colorado completely over to me. He said it's too hard for 'him' to build the business being in Illinois. So, it will become 'my' baby and his company will just process the sketch into the final product. Part of the floorplan sketching requires I take pictures and the quality of pictures I take has actually led to some agents no longer using their professional photographer because the photos I take are just as nice. A few agents have hired me to just take photos for them as well. I also have a student/apprentice that has this consulting idea that if phenominal but I have not had time to get it off the ground and running. It's really more my student's thing but I'm interested in diversifying myself and this is another way to generate income.
With that said, I need to design a website that displays all my services. Basically, something along the lines of a home page that tells about my company and then pages for each service (appraisals, consulting, sketches, photography). I would like each page to be able to have some pictures, a description of the services, the areas the services are provided and the fees for the services. On the consulting page I would like to be able to upload a PDF of a sample consulting report so people can actually see what they are getting. I don't need the site to be able to take orders but if it could that would be cool.
Right now, the purpose of the site is to promote name recognition. Once I take over the floorplan sketching for my area, I will have direct access to a Remax office with about 250 agents in it. That's a lot of opportunities and I need to be prepared for those opportunities.
So, if you think you can help me do something like that, I would be very thankful!
