Tweetwow thats some bad news!!!! I feel bad for his dad
Tweetdamn i cant imagine what his family is going through.
i feel for them
i always use DBs when there is no spotter
TweetMan, that is just sad, sad, sad! How awful for the dad to have to find him like that. It the weight came down on his throat I wonder if he was using a thumb under grip and the bar rolled off is hand. Usually when you get stuck, it sits on your chest. Man, I hate just thinking about that kind of stuff. Be carefull guys and make sure to keep an eye out for these kids at the gym. Offer them a spot so they know the importance of it. 195 lbs as a sophmore with a 240+ bench, man, that kid was on his way to being a super stud. My heart just hurts for that family.
TweetThat's really sad! It's unimaginable to have to lose your son. Kids are supposed to outlive their parents, not vice versa. That poor father!
TweetWow thats a horrible thing to happen to anyone esp. a teen, but i never understood puting clips on barbells when doing bench just incase that happends ever bc it only takes a lean of the bar and all the weight will fall off on one side. Even with a spotter heavy weight cant be lifted up and would need to be tilted.
TweetThat's horrible. Folks, if you're gonna have a home gym it needs to be a power rack or smith machine for this very reason.
