TweetSearch and rescue are stepping down the search for an eight year old autistic boy, whos been missing for days in the Crater Lake Wilderness. temperatures been in the mid 20's overnight with snow. Now the thing that pisses me off, is the fact that this kid has a history of running off and hiding ! why would you take a child like that to a remote wilderness area like that in the first place ? and not have his ass supervised by (a few) people ? Flatlanders just dont have a clue when they venture out in the woods. there's no Starbucks or cell phone service ya dumbshits ! stay in town, sip your latte and quit making it tougher on us folks who have common sense for cryin' out loud !!! it comming down to having to get permits or having areas closed down to backpackers or climbers, cause people keep dying out there. street shoes, not even a jacket, knowing where you are (and letting someone else know just incase). then again, maby the parents got tired of playing games with the kid and jus let'em go...collect a lil insurance ? just sad

TweetYeah, something doesn't sound right here to me..Is it being investigated? It is just common sence here. You just don't take an autistic child into the wilderness, let alone knowing he has a tendency to play hide and seek games.

TweetI'm with you guys, that's messed up to take an autistic kid to the wilderness in the first place. Most of those kids won't even get the enjoyment out of it because of the way their brain processes information. I could be wrong because I know there are dozens of different types of autism but none the less, what kind of jack ass takes an 8 year old boy with autism to the woods and doesn't keep him on a tight leash. Next, what flatlander (I like that) goes to the wilderness when it's that damn cold at night? Seriously, those kinds of people aren't prepared for that kinds of camping. You have to get used to camping in those temperature, you don't just go out and no problem.

It makes me absolutely sick to my stomach to think some poor little boy could be on his own right now, scared to death and lacking the sense needed to find a road or something. Or even worse, he died because of someone's negligence. They shouldn't get one phuking dollar, in stead they should faces charges for child neglect. They admitted he runs off and they neglected to take the necessary precautions to prevent it.

Man, now I'm getting pissed off just thinking about this.

TweetYep, pretty sad. but like I said,..they had to go looking for him a few times before this happened. he shoulda' had a FEW people watching him. it's true though, I have a friend with an autistic child and he does the same thing. he'll run away and hide somewhere when he gets scared or hears loud noises.
