Tweet3000,1000,100, what's the difference? When you drop checmical weapons on men, women, and children without provocation or cause, that's about as inhumane as possible.Originally Posted by Stout1
Why did we wait 16 years? because the UN weapons inspectors were knocking at the door, and Sadaam wasn't answering. It had nothing to do with time. It had to do with the fact that everyone in the world knew he had Weapons of Mass destruction, had a huge hard on for the US, and was trying to hide something. And we gave fair warning. Let them in, or we attack. Hey look, after 9/11, we couldn't take the chance of letting him not let the inspectors in, and possible have him use chemical weapons here in the US. I applaud Bush for his actions in protecting Americans. Isn't that what we expect from a President? Many holes have been poked in our Countries security after 9/11. We think we're tightening them up, only to find terrorists have already been in the US for years. Probably terrorists from every country imaginable. What is so hard to understand that we warned him, then we attacked. It's lik if someone breaks into hour house, and they have a knife. You on the other hand, have a Gloc 9mm. You warn them several times "drop the knife or I'll shoot. Drop the knife or I'll shoot. Drop the knife or I'll shoot." Then, you have to shoot for fear of your family and your own safety.
Thirdly, what is happening in North Korea, Iran, Africa, Somalia, Liberia, etc.... that doesn't concern us. They are not a threat to us by running a dictatorship country and killing their own people. Now, Iran and North Korea are a threat because they possess nuclear weapons. And the difference between the orth Korean army and the Iraqi army, is that the North Koreans would fight until every last one of them is dead. They don't surrender. They die. Like I said, if we went in there and attacked, it would be too easy for them to launch a chemical attack against S. Korea. Then we look like the bad guys for letting them get attacked. Iran has always been a thron in our side, but generally have been non violent. The hostage situation back in the 80's ended non violently. And Iran is too smart to launch an attack. So they have nukes. What do we do? March in there and start attacking, and risk the possibility of a nuclear attack? If put under pressure, I'm sure Iran would launch a nuke. We know that. We don't want that. So for once, we're letting the UN handle the situation and let other countires finally take a stand with us.
Fourth, who is the USA? Come on now. We're the country everyone turns to for aid. Everyone hates us, but they love our money. When the tsunami happened in Thailand, what did everyone say? "The US didn't give enough money to help our relief efforts" PHUQUE THEM. PHUQUE EVERYONE who looks for a hand out from us. They would think nothing of stucking a knife in our back, but they love our money. And in return, we show everyone that we got balls to back ourselves up. The US wouldn't have evolved into the superpower that we are by not flexing some muscle from time to time. Why do we work out? Why do we take juice? Because we like lookig intimidating and flexing our muscles from time to time. And people leave you alone when you're a big dude. Well, that's the USA.
Fifth, yes, we dropped an A bomb on Hiroshima. Years and years ago. Times have changed. And no, we're not the only country to use a WMD. Sadaam did, N Korea shot a test nuke, India has shot a test Nuke. france and germany both used Mustard gas during WW1, the British, Italians, and Japanese have used mustard gas as well.

TweetVery sad video!
TweetThis is a perfect answer. I wish I had thought of it. Yes, the US supported Saddam in the 1980's. The US was at that time poised in a struggle with the Soviet Union and needed allies in the region. Perhaps supporting Saddam was a mistake, but all highsight is 20/20. It has been clearly seen that he has no qualms about conquering his neighbors, (Notice the use of the word of "conquer." The US did not conquer Iraq, as it has no intention of permanently annexing it. In short, though millitary bases may remain, the US's influence on government will be no power powerful than of its influence on Germany's government.) and developing WMDs which threaten to undermine the political and economic stablitiy of the region, and, indirectly, of theOriginally Posted by Phreak

Is it not a tragedy that Iraq has some of the world's largest oil
supplies, yet its people are destitute? Do you dispute the fact that a
greater quantity of the nautural wealth of Iraq will find its way into
the pockets of ordinary citizens under an US instituted democracy than
under a totalitarian dictatorship?

TweetReports actually said that we have found weapons of mass distruction in Iraq, just not the stock piles of them that we thought we would.
Tweetvery moving.i dont think its a joke when men and women die in supporting our country.weather you agree with it(the war) or not.
I don't know you.But I know your kind.
TweetPssst... Syria. The biggest mistake that we made when it comes to Iraq is that we told Saddam we were coming and at what time. I dont need to be a West Point grad to know that telling your enemy when and where you will attack is stupid. He had months to get rid of who knows how much crap.
