I drop a dollar to a homeless person only on days that I miss church and couldn't put it in the offering bin. Either way if they are making close to a full-time salary by doing this. I might have to start pan handling as well so I can collect gas money!!!! lol!!!
think of the density in new york city. you can have 275 people walk by you on the street in less than 15 minutes. lets say for arguement sake, only 50 people give in an hour say .50 cent to 1.00 dollar on average. do the math! the more i think of it, the more i wanna do it..lol

shit, plant your ass on one of the tourists hubs, union square, times square, lincoln center, central park, trust me, 275 a day is very very doable. this obviously depends on your presentation. if you stink to high hell, no one is going next to you to give you anything.

we have a blind violinist that goes from subway car to subway car, he plays a short, collects, on average, i would guess, 5-10 dollars per trainstop, trainstops take about 45secs to 1min. again, for arguement sake, lets say he makes $3 x 60 minutes = $180 dollars an hour. Do the math! ive been living in new york city for 8 years, i see him every other day. i always give him a dollar.

I saw a whole show on that i think it was 60 minutes or Dateline or something about theses guys pan handling and then walking into garages and pulling out in bmw's and whatever. they make a killing. the best thing to do with a homeless person asking for money is instead of giving them money, buy them food and give that to them...just don't give them cash because it's going towards their mercedes, liquor, or a crack rock.

The first time I ever went to NY, I must have been around 11 or 12. I saw this begger, he was real skinny and had no shirt. I watched this girl give him a shirt she had just bought and I thought that was the nicest thing I had ever seen. Then we went to dinner and I went by the same corner and saw the same guy, this time he was shirtless again and shivering. That made me sick.

OMG! why am i sitting here making around 20k/year when i could be doing this. my city has quite the homeless population...only i think these people are legitimatly homeless. lol.

there was a group of guys in new york city that pulled professional pan handling jobs. these guys would dress up in suits and go around askin other suits for money, sayin they just got robbed and they need money to get home. they would give them a business card and promise that they would send them the money back. these guys netted close to a million dollars in a few months.
dude, that is an AWESOME idea.

There was a guy at the freeway offramp here in PHX and his sign read this exactly "Why lie, I need beer." I took a picture w/my phone, thought it was funny as hell!
