TweetMe and Mrs. D-S both are christians and will raise our kids in the church as well. After they are old enough to make their own decisions they can do as they wish. Now, with that being said... I'm still a sinner, but I also ask for forgiveness. Very touchy subject Fuzo, better watch this thread closely but hopefully everyone here can be respectful adults.
TweetI am active in my Church, in the sense that I'm on the Finance committee and the athetic committee. However, I don't go every Sunday. I believe going to Church every Sunday makes you as much of a Christian as standing in a garage makes you a car. I can worship and love the Lord in my own ways from home, or wherever I am.

TweetI go almost every week. The only time we miss is if one of us is sick enough to get others sick. I don't think it's cool to go to a place and pass your germs around. I go to a Christian church. We have lived here for 4 1/2 years and it took us 3 years to find it. It's a smaller church with a very strong Biblical teaching. However, it's not one of the self-righteous churches though. You know, the ones were everybody is 'perfect'. That church does not exist. Even our Pastor will admit he's a sinner just like me. His humbleness comforts me. Also, our church brings in a lot of revenue and yet our Pastor drives a little Honda Accord. He could easily ask for a raise and doesn't. He is humble and content, just what the Bible teaches and that's why I like him.
Our church sends members to other countries to build housing and churches in places that can't afford to do so themselves. We do a lot for low income communities. We are going this weekend to do winterization to those who want it for free. We have adopted this elementary school in a low income area where the kids parents can't afford school supplies and such, so we provided them with enough supplies to get them through the entire year.
One of our Elders is the super intendent of Colorado Springs Christian Schools and he gave free enrollment to any child that was relocated here as a result of Katrina. Some of those kids are in 3rd and 4th generation families that rely solely on the government for income. This man is taking a lot of heat for doing this but I respect him. He is using his position to change the lives of children who would probably never had a chance before. That's honarable in my book. But he's not alone, he told me Sunday that a guy heard what he was doing and gave him a check for $10,000 to help him get those children what they need to catch up. So many of them can hardly read that they are going to need lots of one on one teaching to catch up. He said these children are so happy to have teachers who actually care about their education and future. By the way, 1,600 people came to where I live as a result of Katrina. So, that's a lot of children for one school to educate and feed.
Tweetevery sunday........im like snickers..i used to not really like it but now i look forward to it
TweetI went every Sunday and Holidays growing up, but over the last year or two not as much as I should have. Im starting to try and get back in a regular pattern of going now though.
