TweetIm so excited. I start tommorow.
cbr- Do you think I should start with Mui Thai or Jiu-Jitsu? The Jiu Jitsu is at 5-8 so I would miss an hour of the class. Mui Thai is from 830-? So I could make that whole class.
TweetJiu Jitsu it is. Thanks bro....
Tweetguy that works at gym hasd been in octagon 4 times!

TweetHuh? My gym or yours? No offense, whats your point?Originally Posted by space mountain
Tweethere's a word of advice when you first go in there your gonna see guys that look like little wusses and your gonna think that you'll just get in there and tap'em out but for the first 2-3 months they are gonna roll you up don't get frustrated just go with the flow and then everything will click and all the stuff you have been learning will start coming together and you'l be tapping people out
TweetHaha, yeah I figured. Its going to be hard on my ego b/c Im a pretty big guy and everyone I saw in there is pretty small. I bet they're going to love getting me to tap.Originally Posted by cbr929
Tweetits fun but it sucks but when a new guy comes in your like thank god fresh meat
Tweethe is badass he brought these sticks into day and was twirling them around i was like dayum
If bigger is better then im better than ever !
TweetYep, but most Dojo's will go out of their way to show you anything as long as you show the initiative to learn and respect everything. Its the guys who go in with a balloon head and get their asses handed to them until they quit. You'll do fine bro. I used to watch some of the BJJ classes and they are rough.Originally Posted by cbr929
Tweetthey can show you as many submissions as you want but knowing what they are and executing is 2 totally different things but I didn't mean they are going to pick on you..... at the end of each class you get a partner and roll (spar) and like I said they will tap you but they aren't out to break your arm or choke you out they will teach while they do it and like gooseneck said you'll do fine and by gosh you will definately cut up

TweetHoly shit. That was a lot of fun. Im going to be in great shape again in no time. I sweat more tonight than I have in a while. LOL. 1st they matched me up with this 16 yr old, that half my size. I let him kinda show me some moves and make me tap out. I was so scared of hurting the little guy. Then this 3rd degree purple something or other shows up. The owner comes over to me and tells me to go roll with him. I reply what is roll and why do you want me to do it with that huge mother fucker? Anyhow he took it really easy on me and told me that I was really strong. I threw him around a lot but could never pin him. I got kinda aggravated and then I got worn out from tossing him around and getting no where. Oh well, all in all it was a great time, I met a lot of nice guys and cant wait to go back tommorow.
Only thing Im concerned about is starting another cycle. Is this a problem when doing martial arts or competing?
Tweetawesome to hear dude.
TweetLOL. When I lived in Michigan, I took Judo for a while. When I first signed up, the instructor told me that the guys were really excited to have a new person. I thought to myself "well now that's weird." When it came time for randori (Japanese word for free practice or wrestling), I found out why...and quick! LOLOriginally Posted by cbr929
Crombie, Judo or any sport like it, is the most physically demanding exercise that I've ever done. You WILL get in fantastic shape. Shit, I wish I was in the class with you man. As far as cycling goes, I'd keep it to a minimum. The cycle you have planned is gonna make you hold a lot of water, you'll get out of breath quicker and probably won't be able to keep up the intensity for long periods of time. I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know so do what's best for you man. Good luck and have fun dude.
