TweetThis is a true story, and it happened earlier tonight while these 7 people were having a conservative political talk over dinner at Black Eye Pea. This is really happening in America. I used to like eating at Black Eye Pea but now theyve obviously lost their ####ing mind.
"About 3/4 of the way through dinner at BLACK EYE PEA we look up to be met by 2 Police Officers standing at our table. They tell us they were called because we were "causing a disturbance". I actually thought it was a joke. It shocked us all when they had to explain that it was because we didn't wear masks.
Here's what happened:
###### arrived first and requested a table for 7. They told her it would be about 5 minutes. She waited outside. I arrived just a few minutes later and within about 3 minutes a hostess came outside and told us the table was ready. She took us into the restaurant to the right (as you face the hostess stand) and seated us at the first table - maybe 10 feet from the door. We didn't have to pass any other tables to get to our table. The rest of the crew came in about 10 minutes later. As they sat down they asked Pat and I if anyone said anything about wearing masks. We both responded "no". Apparently, a hostess asked ### and she said she didn't have a mask; and ### said "no" - she didn't have a mask, wasn't going to wear a mask, and the table is right there. So, they proceeded to come in and sit down. Nothing else was said about it by us or any restaurant employee. We ordered and continued the meeting without any further thought about it.
Needless to say we were more than shocked and downright pissed when we figured out what was going on.
The police proceed to tell us that any business has the right to refuse service, blah, blah. We all responded that we were not refused service - as we point out all of our dinner plates. That we were not refused entry. That we were not asked to leave. Were not refused when placing our orders. And that not one person from the restaurant came to the table to say anything about it. That a hostess came outside and walked Pat and I into the building to our table - and neither of us had masks. I asked the officers how the manager had any justification to call and how were we disturbing anything when we were not refused service or entry into the restaurant, and that the manager had not said word one to any of us. They had no answer. Christy pointed out to the manager (who is hiding behind the planter wall) that a mandate is not law. That it was ridiculous that the police were called. And that the police would tell her the same thing. They agreed. We got the manager's name and the number to Corporate.
I hope you see that our freedoms are under attack, that our way of life is in jeopardy, that this is about more than a mask. When there is zero consistency in the way 7 people within the same party are treated - this is not about a mask. The next step is "do you have papers proving you've been vaccinated". You think I'm kidding?! A year ago, did you think you'd be required to wear a mask in your daily life today? Vote like your life depends on it."
