Dzone,

It def sounds like you made the right decision for your business, and that is what matters. It is like it was meant to be when the decision was made, and your past employee walked in, is now hustling and obviously has awesome work ethics.

The only question I have in regards to the girl you fired is, how did you handle the previous things she did wrong? Verbal warning, write her up, etc, or just as you said "overlooked it"? Now it sounds to me like you won't have any worries with your new employee at all and I am gald you have her. You are kind and compassionate because if you weren't it wouldn't bother you. Just know that you can only do so much, and the needs of the business come first. Sounds like somewhere she lost respect, on the fact that you were her boss so she did whatever the hell she wanted to. It was a learning experience for you also and I don't think you would overlook things like that again for anyone anymore. Best of the luck with booming business, and a little more stress free for you knowing you have a good hardworking employee!
