TweetAgreed. It only puts a burden on decent people. I might consider a ban if I though it would save innocent people but it won't. Just another distraction and waste of money.
TweetSo who all here thinks military grade weaponry should be kept out of reach from civilian hands, and after you post your opinion PLEASE back it up with a backbone, meaning give me your reason as to why you chose your answer. ..... Let the discussion begin.
I feel as though i should begin:
NO. Youve all heard it before and youll hear it again "Guns dont kill people, crazy kills people."
The framers of the Bill of Rights sought to balance not just political power, but also military power, between the people, the states and the nation, as Alexander Hamilton explained in 1788:
IF circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that Army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little, if at all, inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow-citizens
I am a veteran, and i promise you, the day you come to seize my right to bear arms, i will hand them over BUSINESS END FIRST. That is not a threat, that is a promise.

TweetAlso wish that the class 3 license was still a one time 600.00 fee.. You could then Legally own and use fully automatic firearms and handle explosives...... my hats off to the good ole days......
Really hope this shit goes away and i can once again purchase what i want when I want.
TweetI feel that the fees , tax stamps and paperwork on a CCW or class3 stuff is already infringing on my 2nd amendment rights. You only have the right IF you can purchase it.
Tweeti say yes we should be allowed to own assault weapons and here is why:
1-i can do just as much damage with a low cap .30-.06 hunting rifle if not more than with an ar
2- it is just as much a sporting hunting rifle as any other
3-the bad guys are still going to have them so why should i have to give up my rights when it wont do shit except take away my rights
4-regardless of what the weapon is be it a single shot multi shot handgun, shotgun, or a freaking cannon it can still kill people and lots of them
i had a nice talk with a trooper that i am friends with. he said he doesnt think that the civilian population should be allowed to have them cause it put them at an unfair advantage over le. i asked him then well do you have a rifle and shotgun in your vehicle? yep he does. i said well could i not put a whole other level of hurting on you with a 30-.06 or larger caliber hunting rifle than a .556 or a 7.62x39. his response was absolutely. contrary to popular belief a 5.56 doesnt do all that much damage and at close range the damage is even less yet a high caliber hunting rifle will punch one hell of a big hole and keep going with the possibility of going through more than one person, doors walls cars etc..... so my defense of assault rifles is this, if a weapon is in the wrong hands legal or illegal then bad things are going to happen. let us also not forget that vehicles, baseball bats, knives etc..... take more lives everyday than firearms do. oh and fist put up a nice article about perscription meds killing more as well. no one is chomping at the bit to regulate any of those more strictly.
if you want a more level playing field in this country then i suggest this: better trained police with all the equipment they need at all levels. that includes weeding out all the fat ones, old ones etc... that dont make the standard (same as military does) place armed security in all areas of large crowds, and issue more ccw permits to individuals that attend and complete the proper training and encourage them to carry their weapon.
if you want a glimpse of how well strict gun control works in this country then take a look at the statistics in the cities with the toughest gun laws: chicago, dc, and all over california. then compare it to the cities and states with more friendly gun laws. see how those add up

VERY NICELY said!! I couldnt agree with you more on all points.
TweetI feel that there should be no restrictions on weapons short of Chem, Nuc and Bio. If it shoots and or goes boom and you clear a background check (criminal, psych, etc) have fun and blow shit up. A few weeks ago had the AR10 out shooting tannerite in a Gatorade bottle at 200yrds, that was fun.
Tweetwell this thread seems very pro ar so in an effort not to get ganged up on by all you alphas i am regretfully declining to state my opinion here.
TweetJust for the record, an AR is not a military grade weapon. M16 yes, AR no.
TweetI would like to go out on a sarcastic limb here and say that anything Chem or Bio is in the hands of ones own intelligence and resources....whereas plutonium is one hell of an outreach program lol.
