I just thought I would illicit some of your thoughts on Eggs. We all know they are a source of protein, but what do you think about 'OMEGA 3' eggs or 'Free Range' eggs. Is there really a difference in the protein and hormone content or is it just a difference in price? What about RAW vs COOKED and YOLKS vs NO YOLKS? How many eggs do you eat a day? I once met a stripper/exotic dancer chic who ate no less that 14 egg whites every morning and had an incredible set of legs to prove it.

Please limit the discussion to EGGS... seems WHEY and CASEIN has been covered elswhere on this site.

I personally like the omega 3 eggs because of the reduced saturated fat. I also noticed the yoke tastes better. Normally, I don't like the yoke, but omega 3's i can eat no problem.

Im not too fussy with my eggs, brown, white, omegas, how their fed, yadda yadda, I'll buy the ones that are the best buy for my buck. always cooked, dont want to risk salmonela poisoning and besides they dont taste very cooked raw! I also throw in a yolk or 2 in my morning omlet..those yolks are full of nutrients and I wouldnt be too worried about the cholesterol unless you have large amounts elsewhere in your diet.

Isn't 2 egg yolks a little much as far as cholesterol? Aren't they about 79% daily value of cholesterol? That is like 2 days worth of cholesterol. I am not sure what the ratio of HDL to LDL, but either way that is a bit much. I eat 5 regular egg whites every morning with a little salt and pepper

Dinatos8282, check out these sites for a bit more info on cholesterol in eggs and impact on diet. a yolk (or 2 at the most) per day isnt as bad as those that shun the yolks may think!

Hmmm. I'm taking 10 egg ( 5 per time during lunch n another 5 during dinner). Someone asked me to go for 30 eggs a day (10 per meal) but I'm not sure if I could handle it. Just wanted to know if too many eggs would actually do harm more than good?

10 whole eggs or egg whites?
egg whites are a great choice, but 10 yolks is beyond overboard imo.

Actually the latest evidence suggests that cholesterol is not the whole picture. One can have an incredible amount of cholesterol intake, yet not be affected in a negative way. For one thing, if your body can adequately adjust your levels of LDL to match an increase in HDL, everything remains in check.

As for susceptibility to a heart attack, one should look to a completely different test, called the CRP (C-Reactive Protein). If the protein is present, it could indicate a problem. The point being if one has a great cholesterol reading, yet a bad CRP test, that person is much MORE likely to suffer from heart failure.

The whole cholesterol issue has been one of debate since its inception and there is plenty of anecdotal evidence that will both support or refute most of the thinking on this topic.

My thinking is that people blessed with amazing genes could probably eat whole eggs 'till the chickens come home with absolutely no repercussions.
I know nothing about any of this insanity... it's just a fun game to me.

I noticed something that when you do take so many egg white you take it early in the morning. Does it effect when you take it for example, before you sleep ?
