TweetI'm a chugger I usually don't sip anything except hot coffee , I Chug protein , water , ice tea ect Don't know why but I do.
TweetDo you chug your protein shakes? I always always did this. I think probably because I grew up in a day and age where the protein shakes were so nasty!
A few years ago I developed a dairy allergy. I can still do whey as long as it's hydrolyzed isolate. Sometimes I still get stomach aches but over the last year or so I've learned to sip on my shake...basically dividing my shake into 3 parts. Right after training I chug a third...middle third is sipped slowly and the last third is usually a little faster consumption. I've found that taking my time with the shake avoids stomach issues almost completely.
Just some insight

Tweetdepends, most of my shakes are small. i rarely use more than one scoop of protein. easy to chug without consequences.
Tweethaha thanks, I enjoy lecithin, it's really cheap and you get a nice fullness effect from taking it but I always forgot to take it when I poor the granules in my mouth, they don't take bad but they were difficult to eat and they weren't something I look forward to, so I started mixing them in shakes, they make the shake super thick if you let the shake sit for a bit

TweetNot me .
The only time do a shake is a treat.
Ill blend it with ice and make a nice smoothie out of it
As for eating I take my time .If I don't it sets me up to over eat
TweetI'm guilty of chugging, but I eat fast, drink fast too, its just a habit. It don't seem to bother me unless I eat a ton.

TweetThe longer food is in your mouth, the more the digestive enzymes in the saliva can digest it and break it down. A lot of digestion happens in your mouth by chewing and saliva. Also, there are sensors in your mouth that connect to the satiety center in your brain, telling you to feel full...this is why I have always swished my protein around in my mouth. It digests it better and makes my brain think Im full. If Im in a hurry I chug it, but I try to do it the slow way whenever I can.
TweetChugger no shake no me is good I think they all taste like shit lol. But honestly I drink and eat fast that's how Iv always been plus in allows me to get more in before I get full. When I used to drink it would get me in trouble lol.
