  • Excessive or not?

Police officer punches a 17 yr old girl in the face after she becomes confrontational.

Seriously though, why would anyone want to scuffle with a police officer in the first place? Not smart....

NOT excessive, people should be responsible for thier actions and you don't touch the police... EVER!

It was a guy doing that to the cop he would have gotten hit then tazered and we wouldn't have even heard about it. She got what she deserved.

HE'S FUK'D A WHITE COP HITS A BLACK UNDER AGE WOMEN IN THE FACE WITH HIS FIST INSTEAD OF TAKING OUT HIS SPRAY OR TAZER. SHE WASNT BEING THAT OVERLY PUSHY THE FIRST LADY WAS WAY MORE ACTIVE THEN THE YOUNG GIRL. WHEN I SEE COPS DO THAT SHIT IT MAKES ME SICK.THIS YOUNG GIRL WILL WIN A CIVIL COURT BATTLE WITH THE POLICE DEPT AND THEY WILL SETTLE THIS OUT OF COURT.FIRST GETTING WHAT SHE DESERVED AND WHY SHOULD SHE GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE INSTEAD OF GETTING SPRAYED OR TAZZERED FIRST. AS SOON AS HE WOULD OF TOOK THAT TAZZER OUT SHE WOULD OF BACKED OFF. NO WOMEN DESERVES TO GET HIT IN THE FACE BY A COP FOR DOING WHAT LITTLE SHE DID.I AGREE THAT SHE SHOULDNT OF TOUCHED THE COP BUT THAT DOESNT GIVE HIM THE RIGHT TO PUNCH HER LIKE THAT. AND THAT COP COULDNT EVEN KNOCK OUT A 17YR GIRL,HE'S GOPING TO GET RAZZED ABOUT THAT FROM HIS FELLOW OFFICERS. AND NOW THE NAACP AND AL SHARPTON WILL GET INVOLVED NOW JUST WAIT.AND NOW THIS COP WILL HAVE A TARGET ON HIS BACK SO HE WILL PROBABLY BE SITTING FOR AWHILE

I agree. I think there were better ways to handle this. Even if it was a guy, and the cop did the same thing, I would feel the same way.

Blame steroids...hahaha...all that shyt for jaywalking? OMG!That cop is incompetent for having a situation get totally out of control. Its national news now so this is going to get a lot of airtime, as it should. Cops need to think twice before they go off on someone. If he cant keep his cool then he shouldn't be a cop

F cops and they're obvious disregard for the law. Granted a few cops are good guys and play by the rules (they are the ones I give my utmost respect too), the majority bust people for what they themselves are guilty of.

There was a big breakdown in Manatee country Florida because a ton of cops were planting drugs on people that had no record and convicting them, some people lost their kids because of it etc. They also were doing it because a law allows them to seize their possessions and buy them for pennies on the dollar. They were basically framing people to steal their houses, cars and stuff. Makes me sick.

I want to add a personal recent experience too...

I pulled into my development and there were a bunch of cop cars parked in front of my building (theres 8 townhomes in a building) and they were blocking the parking spots. They were just standing out at their cars laughing and joking around. So I rolled down my window and asked them if they weren't busy if they could "please" move the car that was blocking my parking spot. They looked at me in shock and said "are you kidding?", I said "no, unless you are doing something important. I have my child and groceries in the car, and being that I'm alone I need to carry my kid back and forth while I get the groceries." So he sighed and moved his car.

As soon as I park he comes up to my car (my windows are still down) he asked me to roll up my window. I asked why, he said because he wants to test my tint to see if it's legal. I asked if he was kidding. He said No. So he tests it and then tells me it isn't legal and starts questioning me about where I got it done and stuff. Finally said I'm not thrilled that he is berating me for asking him to move his car. I said its amusing your doing this because I'm going for a law degree to fight government and corporate corruption. I said theres an overall abuse of power by the system and most people aren't even aware the violations being done against them are actually illegal and inadmissable if utilized. Furthermore some of those violations done by government employees can result in a civil suit.

He just looked at me and said, have a nice day then walked away.

                      Un-freaking-believable!

Knowledge is power, and knowing your rights is so freaking important in this Big Brother society. The more I learn in criminology the more I realize how spot on George Orwell was. It's pure insanity what our government gets away with....and ours is better than many of them out there which is even scarier!

^Holy crap, that is unfreaking real...harassing you about window tint...Good lord!

Yep, I had a cop seize a really nice handgun for no reason at all. It was lying on the floorboard in plain sight except for a part of the shoulder holster was under the seat. He said I was trying to conceal the gun ..Huh???? How did he see it then? All charges were dropped but I never got it back and paid like $500 for it. I had to hire an attorney, who was an idiot who also ripped me off...arrgghhh

See that's exactly why I want to be a lawyer. Your life is inconvenienced and altered because the illegal actions of others. It's not right. I'm sick of money hungry lawyers too. They are all about the dollar, not about the passion for rights. Too me I'm pursuing a law degree to fight corruption, to help those that can't afford it go after these corrupt corporations. I'm tired of these elite thinking that those without money aren't able to fight back.....

Did you notice that b4 this cop hit her, he was the one going after her, not her after him. Regardless, he im sure could have controlled her without punching her in the face. She was initially trying to break it up. Im sure he is prob a womanizer/hater and just couldnt control his temper. They are trained in this area and he should have known better..He could have easily restrained her without hitting her at all.

People that saw it happen say that the woman in the pink first came at him and he pushed her away. Once he pushed her away, she came at him again and that's when he hit her. The other woman continued to fight with him after that. Supporters of the cop are saying that he didn't use "enough" force because he never took the lady to the ground. I just saw this on the news.
