Back in my youth very early 20's we were at a college party and ofcourse a fight broke out with my friends and the other guys in chicago. Needless to say we won but a guy grabbed me from behind and I turned around and clocked him. he was wearing a old army jacket so I didnt know who it was but to find out later it was a undercover cop who came to break up the party. He got up and him and his other under cover clonies threw me down the stairs,no shit threw me down the stairs and when I got up I looked up the stairs and started calling them you pussies and this and that. well all of a sudden a big black chicago cop came behnd me,he was in his uniform and pulled out his club and started to choke me and I thought this was it because I couldnt breathe and I remember this old lady who was next to us screaming at the cop let him go because all I was doing was scraming up the stairs at a group of guys who at first I didnt know were cops until it all ended.So then this peice of shit chicago cop finaly lets go I drop to one knee to catch my breathe the old lady comes by me and asks are you ok and I said i'm fine and even thanked her for screaming at the pig cop. because thats how I felt at the time he was a pig cop. I didnt know they were under cover no one showed there badges they just broke in the house while the fight was going on in plain clothes. Ok sorry for swinging at a guy who grabbed me from behind but what else was I going to do,say hmm I wonder who grabbed me i'll turn around and ask first then beat the snot out of him,lol well any way the next morning My mom woke me up screaming at me all upset and asked me if i'm ok and she was really scared. Well I guess the cop yanked so hard with the billy club across my kneck that the next morning I had a huge burn type injury around my kneck were he was choking me. Yep the college days. Great story.
Even so, i believe the first thing a cop (undercover) is supposed to do when compromised in a sitaution is to identify themselves as a cop. Since no identification happened you, as a bystander, is or should be able to defend yourself.
