  • Sleeper card UFC Fox 18

    01/30/16 this looks pretty sweet.

Anthony Johnson vs. Ryan Bader Bader is on a 5 fight win streak, his style is kind of boring as a grinder but he is good. Now Rumble Johnson is so explosive. and he is arguably the best guy bader has faced. and in bader's last 2 losses were by straight up KO. if Rumble touches the chin Bader is out he is a scary striker with good wrestling. I like the matchup I pick Rumble

Josh Barnett vs. Ben Rothwell Wow, this is a dream matchup, two incredible ground guys who can stand and trade. I like barnett in this match

Iuri Alcantara vs. Jimmie Rivera Iuri is tough but they are bringing up Rivera. iuri is there to loose but don't count him out even if he is the underdog.

Andrew Holbrook vs. Sage Northcutt I think holbrook is out and Bryan Barberena stepped in on short notice. Northcutt is a monster. he will be fighting for the first time in the UFC at welterweight. he had trouble making 155. Barerena will have a test. he is 13-3 as a pro and will be moving up to 170 as well. Sage has fight catch weights at 165# so I still think he will be a bigger dude. 2 explosive strikers. fight of the night!!!

Good breakdown jip..It is a sleeper card you brought to my attention. When I see a fight nights I tend to look at the main event mostly. In the past the fight nights only had one real "have to see fight". I'll give it to Dana that they are putting on some amazing events on free tv.
Bader style is a bit boring but man is striking looked improved in his last bout.
If the fight last 1 or 2 rounds it's likely cause Bader is dead on the mat. After that rumble could become very vulnerable due to cardio. I am pulling for Bader but my $ would be on rumble.

Between Barnett and Rothwell? Idk who to pick. The war master is hame but Rothwell is just straight up a big tough dude that could end anyone's night.

Didn't realize Northcutt was that big. He is stepping up the competition quick! Maybe his opponent isn't rank high but that is some experience on his record. Welterweight is such a different animal. A lot of these guys are 200lb dudes. I can't believe rumble used to cut to that weight..lol
I can't believe mcgregor made some remarks about welterweight and people are taking it serious? Idk man, welter weight has some big dudes. If Mendes could take him down what would those guys do??

I know, it's crazy. Sometimes there's a card you barely want to watch and all the fights are amazing, technical, finishes. Then you have the nights that they go 10 for 10 on non-technical decisions.
Lately it's been pretty good. Little disappointed alveraz didn't give pettis some room to work the other night but I can say I blame him. There is talk of setting up nate diaz vs Pettis which I would be pumped to see!

yeah but alvarez has been in some wars and i can see how a couple of wrestling grinder wins are less abusive to the body and safer. but now we see pettis's weakness. doj anjos exploited it and now alvarez. he will adjust and be back better.

This card has a great main and co main that could easily be on a pay-per-view. Really looking forward to this one.
