I think with my background in striking and ground work that I will get up to speed on krav fairly quickly. It uses the same techniques and really, it's a lot of common sense too. It will just take 1000s of reps to make it second nature so it comes quickly. Our teacher likes us to start all the defense with our hands at our sides. He says no one walks around with their guard up...haha.
interesting. i like the "no one walks with their hands up" it's true i just never thought about it. now I want to do it

I don't see why not. It falls right in line with everything else I am training in. As long as he keeps his gym open, I will continue to take all 4 classes. I LOVE this stuff!

Me too. He likes to teach KM just as it would happen in the street. I will make sure and update here every so often just so you guys can get an idea of the direction this class goes. Muay thai and boxing is what it is....you just basically work the same strikes into different combos and get reps in, work on timing, etc...you guys all know they go.

We are working on setting up a kickboxing tournament maybe sometime early next year. Maybe that will happen.

I think I am going to start a diet next week and utilize all the conditioning work we do to drop some weight. I need to lose about 20-25lbs...I think it would help out my striking and my knees. I figure I could run a keto or something for a few weeks and knock off quite a bit of weight doing the classes. We will see...Jacob started football last week and that's going to make us hit and miss on some classes while that is going on. I will make sure to not miss krav maga though since it's new. We will see.

oh loosing the weight will increase your speed. and will be good for your knees and ankles. Once that kid gets in football shape and rolls he will be a beast

Any suggestions on what diet would be the best? I thought about keto to get it off quickly. I thought about a zig zag for more food choices. And I thought about just eating clean foods without counting any cals or weighing anything out.

            What do you guys think?

just eat clean and eat smaller portions. cut out sugar and refined high GI carbs and it will come off. keto will leave you with no energy training.

I think that will be easier to stick with anyway. Thanks for all the advice you give Jipped

aw brother we are family a cyber family LOL

I am all about ease of use and diets are great, you may loose fat faster but you are more likely to cheat or give up. just eating clean i don't cheat nearly as often, it's easy to stick with and i just feel better by not depriving myself of food. instead of a bag of chips, eat an apple ect. I talk myself into believing the apple tastes better than the chips...........hey it kind of works

As gay as this may sound, if any of you have seen that movie Never Back Down, Cam Gigandet, the "bad kid," is in real-life a black belt in Krav Maga...he claims that is how he could do all his own stunts...I want to train in this type soooooo bad but there is none around close to me in Michigan...at least I couldn't find anyone!

                    Keep it up!!
