    ufc fox #5 thoughts on how they shook out

    First off, ben henderson is a beast. he took away nate's strengths and negated almost all offense. I was really surprised so many folk picked him to win. I was very impressed with Nate's chin and Henderson appeared to really try to win rather than try to decision diaz. Hard to put that guy away.

    BJ, BJ, BJ, macdonald was a BAD matchup. go back down to 155 and leave hawaii, train with a well known team, get a real dietitian, S&C coach and as talented as he is naturally I feel he could really be relevant again. but he trains pretty hard, eats pretty good, uses the same coaches he has always used......times have changed

    Gussaffson is a beast. i though shogun was going to clip him but he didnt. good match up jones vs gusstaffson

    anyway these are my thoughts, i called them all right for maybe the first time ever.

    Henderson's strength made the difference. He was just too strong period. He cuts A LOT of weight though. Good win

    Same thing with Rory. The guy is a HUGE WW. He was just too big for BJ. Rory did great but it was against a 155er that he couldn't put away. Still don't see him being the next big thing yet. I actually thought BJs conditioning was much improved. He took a TON of hard body shots and was still pressing the action in the 3rd. It was jut the size difference.

    Gustafson...beast! He showed that he has a chin in that skillset. Jones may be in trouble with this guy!

    The prelims were great too!! I personally think Cruikshank looks great. I had him picked to win TUF but he got clipped. He looked great last night. Someone needs to teach him to keep his chin down though.

    Overall it was a GREAT event...prelims and all.

      And I agree, if we BJ wants to continue, it needs to be at 155. I think we all know this. Times have changed and people are cutting way too much weight for him to fight at 170.

          I haven't read. His reaction looked more like a liver shot and if that's the case, he did good not going down because that kick was brutal!!

            BJ IS DONE...HE WILL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING IN THE 170 CLASS. HE WAS AT 168 AND STILL LOOKED CHUBBY. PLUS HE LOOKED TERRIBLE AS USUAL. HE NEEDS TO STAY AT 155 IF HE WANTS TO KEEP FIGHTING.

              IM GLAD BEN HENDERSON SCHOOLED DIAZ...THE DIAZ BROTHERS NEED TO LEAVE THE THUG ATTITUDE AT THE DOOR AND COME WITH SKILLS AND A BETTER ATTITUDE. THE BAD BOY SHIT GETS OLD WITH THOSE 2. BEN IS WELL SPOKEN, REPRESENTS THE UFC LIKE A CHAMP AND THANKED GOD FOR HIS WIN. JOB WELL DONE! BEN DESERVED IT!

                I disagree about the Diaz brothers. They have a higher skill level than most. The BJJ and boxing are too notch, their cardio is top notch, chin top notch, heart top notch, etc...they actually live a martial artist lifestyle. I would MUCH rather watch their bad boy attitude than Rory's pshycho, Ali act. If Anderson Silva had done what Rory did last night, he would be getting bashed by every mma fan and Dana white.
