I would think it's because he hasn't proven himself with the UFC fighters yet. He got 20k to show plus 20k to win plus a 75k FoTN bonus (total 115k). At WEC 47, Cruz only made a TOTAL of 18k. I would say his pay has been increased quite a bit. Leben has been proving himself with the big boys for a while and rarely puts on a bad show.

Even on new contract negotiations, if you don't win and perform, you still won't make the money. We have seen that for a long time. Look at how long Franklin was champ and he never made anything compared to the other champs...even after contract negotiations.

The payouts for Tito, Cruz and Faber are just plain embarrassing. Tito is WWWAAAYYYYY too high, dude hasnt won in 5 years and IMO will never compete for a title ever again. Cruz is a champ and got treated like a chump, and Faber is still a pretty big name. I could give a rats azz about Tito, I watched cause I wanted to see the Faber Cruz fight. IMO they are all underpaid though based on how large the organization is esp compared to other professional sports organizations. Think of how many guys in the NFL, MLB, NBA etc make 5-10 mil per year from a contract. The highest paid UFC guys would have to get fight bonuses etc to even make 2 mil per year assuming they fought at least twice per year.
