Nelson confirms walking pnemonia

Yahoo Sports first reported that Nelson had dealt with the condition for the first two weeks of May prior to his bout with Mir, citing text messages exchanged with Nelson’s wife. Sherdog.com confirmed the news with Nelson, who asserted that walking pneumonia was indeed the culprit behind his sub-par conditioning.

However, Nelson was quick to give Mir his due, telling Sherdog.com that “Frank [was] the better man” in their scrap at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

When asked if he had recovered from the illness, the former International Fight League heavyweight champion answered frankly.

“[I’m] not feeling better,” Nelson said. “Feels like I picked a scab off of my lung.”

I usually HATE when a fighter makes excuses. But in this case it was believable. The one thing that Nelson hardly ever does is gas out. He gassed out quick in this fight and we all knew something was up there. But he did say that Mir was the better man regardless.

You would think with mirs size, strength, agility, skills, and experience he would be murdering guys but just doesn't. Like Dana said, I expect more of him.

Dana took that back once he found out Mir had the broken jaw and rib. There some big guys in HW now....Mir is not the biggest by any means. As a matter of fact, he was the smaller one until the last 2 fights when he has gained some weight

I havent had a chance to watch fight. At what point did his jaw break? And ribs? I kinda watched it on my phone while driving but hard to tell.

This is where I got that so no one thinks that I just made that up:

Frank Mir may have a broken jaw and rib following UFC 130.

Mir was absent from the UFC 130 post-fight press conference to go to the hospital for a possible fractured jaw and rib.

UFC president Dana White revealed the news during the press conference.

“Frank Mir will not be here. We went to the hospital, fractured jaw and rib.”

That was straight from Dana's mouth at the post fight press conference.

I saw that, when Dana announced it, Roy threw his hands up proud. The crowd laughed and Dana called them sick until he saw roys antics
