  • Chuck on his retirement

"I love fighting. I loved what I did. If I could still take a punch, I would still be out there fighting."

"I made other excuses for it in the past -- Maybe I wasn't training so hard. Maybe I was doing this wrong, but I did everything right for that fight [against Rich Franklin]. I was in great shape... I made a decision because of that... But it's a tough thing. It's the hardest thing in the world for me to accept. It's hard, because all I've ever done is train."

There you have it. Chuck even says he can't take a punch anymore.
"He woke up because I kept punching him in the face." --Thiago Alves

"I'm telling you, once your car's been stolen, it never runs the same again. It's like a guy sleeping with your girl. He leaves his mark all over her."- Drama (Entourage)

    Re: Chuck on his retirement

Chuck needed to toughen up his face. He could of done more strength exercises for his neck.he could of got punched in the face on purpose by his coaches and sparring patrtners to toughen him up more. He needed to learn bobbing and weaving chuck had no head movement he was straight foward. Evertyone saw this flaw in him and then it was over. The guy can still fight but no jaw power anymore. But read about toughening up your jaw it does work.

      Re: Chuck on his retirement

he was a top pro fighter with every available option to help him win. i am sure if there was something he could have done to make it where he could take a punch better he would have.

guys like andre arlovski are desperate for anything to make their "off button" less sensitive.

getting hit in the jaw over and over loosens the hinge making it easier to get KOd.

      no chuck is done.
