    Liddel picks Shields over GSP

        There is nothing wrong with what chuck said. Gsp knows if Jake gets him down it probably could be over. And Imo great fighters need knock outs.. All GSP fights goes to decisions there boring. Great champions fi9nish fights they knock the shit ourt of people GSP doesnt do that at all. If gsp goes to 185 he's going to lose fights big time and he will get knocked out. If he goes to 185 and fights the top guys I will bet $500 to anyone he will get knocked out in his first 5 fights.I dont think Jake will win on his feet but then again I dont know how good jake has got since the last few fights he has had. Jake also has no punching power. 2 fighters with no punching power,1 is great on the ground 1 is great on his feet what will happen. I tell you this GSP has jake in his head thats for sure and if gsp head isnt on straight for the fight he will lose.Brody chuck is the greatest 205 ever lived and made the UFC what it is today Chuck did that. If you take chucls mental thought on wanting to finish fights so bad with a knock out you see a different fighter but he couldnt do that he wanted the ko so bad and that was his down fall

            I dont think hes one to look past at all. Shields is by far GSPs toughest opponent so far... that being said, GSP has walked over everyone and everyone always says its gonna be such a tough fight for him, so I just dont know what to think is gonna happen.

              Compare everyone that Shields fought, against everyone GSP fought. Shields was in Strikeforce. The talent over there was 1/10th of UFC talent. Shields has had a few split decisions with guys not close to GSP's caliber. That Henderson fight, Dan blew it. He had Shields on his ass in the first 3 minutes of the fight. He's beaten an aging Robbie Lawler, and barely beat Martin Kampmann. His best win was against Paul Daily, who again, fukked up like Henderson and said "Here's my arm. Submit me." Shields is a great fighter. But he's been fighting the equivalent of the Carolina Panthers in the Strikeforce. I really honestly say he doesn't make it past the first round.

                And John Madden was one of the greatest coaches in the NFL. But he sucked as a commentator. No ones arguing Chuck was a great fighter. But that doesn't make him Karnack the magician who can pick fights accurately.

                    no way. i mean it could happen but GSP is freakishly strong and has great BJJ. shields is not going to take his back. also GSP will jab him every time he comes into take down range

                      The toughest guy he has fought since '07 is Koscheck (you can count BJ, but GSP is twice as big as BJ) and I don't think Koscheck is that good. So yeah, he has walked through his opponents with decisions.

                      You can't do that. MMA math don't work. I would put Dan Henderson beating anyone that GSP has fought, if you want to compare. GSP has been beat by Matt Serra...a small 155'er?? If he had Shields on his ass in the first 3 minutes and then Shields dominated him the rest of the fight, that's props to Shields. He beat Robbie 2 years ago. It's funny how people can come up with all of these excuses to discredit a fighter's record when they are betting against him.

                      No but it gives him MUCH more credibility than any of us and if he picks Shields to win, he has his reasons.

                      I agree here. GSP will do everything in his power to keep it on the feet if he is smart. But he likes to challenge his opponents in their area of expertise, so it wouldn't surprise me to see GSP take Shields down to prove a point and that is when he will be putting himself in danger.



                      I am not saying that Shields is going to beat GSP down or anything like that. And I know the easy and smart money is on GSP. All I am saying is that most stuff I have read on message boards has this as a cake walk for GSP and I just don't see that. He may come out and finish it in the first minute, who knows? But Shields has a better recipe to beat GSP than anyone he has faced in a while.

                      Who would have thought Serra was going to KO GSP?
                      Who would have thought that Edgar would beat BJ twice in a row?
                      Who would have thought Werdum would beat Fedor?

                          Brodys answer was, "who cares about chuck" and thats what I replied to that chuck does matter on when he speaks its his opinion thats all and people agree with opinions and some dont.
