    UFC gives Nam Phan win bonus

    Nam Phan confirms to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that he was paid his win bonus following his controversial loss to Leonard Garcia at the TUF 12 Finale:

    "It's almost a blessing in disguise," Phan said. "It almost made me more popular. I really appreciate the support from the MMA community, especially the UFC and Dana White. Everyone from the UFC had my back, and I really appreciate that."

    "Dana white came by backstage and told me, 'You're getting your win bonus because you won that fight,' " Phan said. "I thought business is business, and I just thought if I lost, I lost, and I would only get my base pay. That's how it usually goes. But the UFC – Dana White takes care of the fighters. I really appreciate that."

      It was cool thing to do....but I think that may be a tough road to start down. What about all the fighters in the past that this has happened to, but didn't get a bonus? What about future fights where fighters in this situation will now expect the bonus? It is a cool thing to do, if you do it for every fight with these circumstances.

        Lets not forget garcia took this fight with a weeks notice. Put a condition garcian in there with nam and he's done

            That is true. Garcia gasses a lot though (just not as much as he did this fight). He throws his punches so hard every single time, that it just wears him down. But yeah, I had Garcia picked to win the fight easily. Nam looked much better there than he did on the show

              I'll give nam credit but a 12 week trained garcia would be a way better fight then what he showed. And someone needs to hit garcia in the head and show him how to punch,lol

                  i agree but in my eyes and most ppl's eyes Nam should have won the that fight. a rematch down the road would be cool
