UFC middleweight Maiquel Falcao was arrested in Brazil on Friday, stemming from a 2002 assault charge.
According to a report from MMAJunkie.com, Falcao was ordered in 2002 to serve a 24 month house-arrest sentence. Falcao then purportedly moved to a new home eight months into the sentence, though his lawyers didn't believe it would be an issue with authorities.
Falcao was taken into custody in his hometown despite having allegedly returned and left on numerous occasions without an issue. His camp believes he'll be released soon, possibly as soon as today.
The Brazilian made his UFC debut at UFC 123 last month, defeating Gerald Harris by unanimous decision
