UFC AND WEC MERGING

I was watching a video by jens pulver and he said it best. If the merger happens the best tough guys will love the merger.The guys on the kuff will hate it.Thers way to many fighters now.Unless they have alot more fights this merger will be boring and fights wont happen as much. I personaly think its a very bad idea.You watch fighters will be very unhappy.To many fighters now. I like this idea that Jens came up with,Have fights every tuesday. Tuesday night fights would make the merger alot better. But if they continue to have fights every 4 months forget about it

There won't be a lot more fighters though. The UFC has said they are not changing the amount of spots on their roster. That means that a lot of these guys that don't come in and fight (win or lose) will get cut. I think it is a great idea personally. It sets up a ton more exciting fights at the lower weight classes.


Also, the larger guys are going to be the ones that are hurt by this. The lower weight fighters are the ones that put on a show. If all these extra guys are fighting for a roster spot, the more exciting fighters will get the spots. The heavier guys that usually put on the more boring fights will have to worry about getting cut....and Dana said it doesn't matter if they win the fight or not.

Then why merge Imo if more fighters are going to get cut. Have both the UFC and WEC on tv its more entertainment.Its dumb to merge and then cut a shit load of fighters. Isnt fighting about having several wieght classes and watching all of them. I like watching heavy wieghts slug it out

I think it will be better for the sport. It will make the fighters really start giving more of a fight. Maybe even stop the 3 round jogging sessions by some of the guys that know they have won the fight. They won't cut any weight classes, but they won't be as easy going on the more boring fighters.

I guess you can make a good argument either way. For me, I am exciting about the merger because it sets up more fights. The lower weight class guys can move between many weight classes and set up more super fights. Plus the WEC guys will now get paid more money than they were.

I like watching the HWs too, but not the ones that don't do anything. It's not about cutting weight classes...it's about cutting fighters that don't fight.
