took a pawing jab finger to the eye Wednesday night when i sparred (this guy got the best of me for sure) my eye got infected i have to put antibiotic drops in it every 3 hours and at least once in the middle of the night.
my left shin looks like it has golf balls cut in half under the skin that are black and blue.
left quad is sore and weak.
my guts pretty much got scrambled from the knees, lower ribs are sore when i breathe, bend over to put on my shoes or just sit still LOL
oh my forearms look like someone took a bat to them. he threw alot of body kicks with his left so the right side of my body has bruising too so i am symetrical
and my neck hurts. i dont think it was from punches to the head but from the clenching up when the knees hit. i think i pulled muscles in my own neck.
i took today off training. going to go in tomorrow and work out light.
why do i have the desire to spar this guy again? i see places where i can definately capitalize but in past experience recognizing a mistake and capitalizing on it are two very different things. i am sure the results will be similar but i have to try. maybe in a couple weeks.
but i did go 3-3 minute rounds. my cardio is getting better. anybody in combat sports knows 9 minutes is an eternity for a weekend warrior. i can roll for 45 minutes but its diff than striking. it never stops and my body is having to react explosively over and over in muay thai. in BJJ i seem to be in the right place at the right time and conserve gas.
damn its fun i wish i had started early like my son. he is working on his blue belt in BJJ and has a year of thai boxing at 12 years old
