Drysdale wins again

I know most people may not know who this is, but being a BJJ guy, I am very excited to see Drysdale in MMA. This is a "true" black belt in BJJ (one of the top guys in the world) and not some black belt by association like much of the UFC is now.

I also like the fact that he didn't use his name to go straight to the UFC. He said he wanted to work his way up the ladder just like everyone else has to do.

He does need to work on his standup quickly though. He won't be able to get everyone down and his standup offense and defense is lacking at this point. But his BJJ is phenomenal!!

agree. we have indeed seen some of the great BJJ guys get into mma and not do well.

a really strong wrestler with just a little sub defense powers out of stuff so easy.

also bjj guys arent used to getting pounded while trying to isolate an arm

what i am waiting for is a top level wrestler who becomes a BJJ black belt and can take guys down and go for subs off the top. jake shields is good at this so is GSp as we saw with dan hardy. but few and far between

That is so funny that you say that!!! I was talking with a co-worker yesterday and I said the EXACT same thing!

I told him that the wrestlers with good GnP are really making it hard on the BJJ guys. I said, "Once you get a top wrestler with good GnP come along, that gets to a true Black Belt level of BJJ and can really attack the subs from the top positions, then you will see a fighter that will run through some guys."

That's so weird....

its true. but you see guys like sonnen and dollaway get subbed. it still works from the bottom but not as often
