for the rest of his life. Without a doubt he had rich beat and rich wouldnt of been able to take another kick to the arm in the 2nd round. chuck has a mental relapse problem and this will haunt him. He doesnt listen to his corner because he over commits because he thinks in his head he has to knock everyone out. Its a disorder he has and he will have to live knowing he had this fight won. He over threw that punch and rich took advantage of again chucks mistake. Every fukn fight chuck was winning and gets clipped. This time he was in great shape and it showed,kicks were great punches were great and he makes a mental mistake and just wont listen to his corner and this probably is it. Unless dana lets him fight tito when tito is ready. But chuck will go into depression and start drinking and partying again because of this. He had this fight won. Then look in chucks face is a look like I have to knock you out and doesnt think.Its really sad knowing this was a chuck in great shape and could of beat rich and was beating him

If it would have gone to the 2nd round I don't know if they would have let Rich fight with a broken arm. Still though Chuck lost and Rich proved once again how good of a fighter he is. I was hoping Chuck would pull it off but you have to fight smart against Rich Franklin; he is one of the best out there without a doubt.

Well, I mean you can't really fault him for doing what he did. He caught Rich and thought he had him in trouble so he came in for the kill and got clipped. No different that when Pete Sell thought he had Scott Smith in big trouble and ran in for the kill and got clipped. He did what most fighters would have done.

I honestly think that Chuck didn't respect Rich's punching power. Everyone acts like Rich has no punching power but the guy has proved that he has pop in his punches. He throws those looping shots that come from awkward angles. Not to mention that Rich is probably a better fighter at 205 than at 185 because it is his natural weight.

Chuck looked good mixing it up and had a great takedown on Rich even though he couldn't do a lot with it. His kicks were crisp and fast. But from what I saw, Rich pretty much matched everything that Chuck threw.

chuck took rich down,rich didnt take chuck down.chucks kicks were way more powerful then richs and for richs punching power chucks jaw was right in line for anyone to clip and knock him out.If people think chuck lost because rich was a better fighter is wrong. chuck didnt listen to his corner,went for the kill which always got him in trouble his last few fights over commited the punch.And who didnt respect richs punching power anyone could of knocked out chuck if there jaw was right in line of fire as chucks was.Bad luck for chuck just bad luck

He got the takedown, you are right...and did nothing with it. His kicks were more powerful. You just can't give Rich credit. Rich KOd him plain and simple. Rich has pop. Did you see what he did to Nate Quarry. Rich is the better fighter...obviously. Chuck always has people make excuses for him like he didn't listen to his corner, or his chin was so perfectly in-line with Rich's fist that anyone could have knocked him out (BS). Chuck has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS fought like that and now all of the sudden, he is getting beat and now that is why. No, anyone couldn't have knocked Chuck out. Stop making excuses and admit that the sport has evolved past Chuck. Rich is a more well rounded fighter and a smarter fighter. He would have won the fight regardless.

It's not bad luck when you lose 1 out of your last 6 fights pretty much by KO or TKO. The only decision he has been to is Jardine....JARDINE!! No, it wasn't bad luck...he just hasn't evolved.

thats friggin crap.Chucks own camp has said he doesnt listen to them and over commits all the time and always has kept his gaurd down and gets clipped.chuck himself has said in interviews his gaurd is down and thats something thats a flaw in his fighting skills. chuck was smashing rich had him against the fence and chuck threw a punch that he over commited to ,rich was bent over turned to his left and connected. Rich was losing the fight the whole 4:55 seconds but he was the better fighter. You need to go watch the fight again. Yeah a fighter has the other fighter beat 4:55 then gets clipped,that is called bad luck,getting clipped and yeah not being smart. chuck should of backed off and went into the 2nd round and guess what rich would of been done within the first minute because of the broken arm chuck did. you talk about nate and richd ko power chuck blows rich away with his power. See prime example of you thinking rich won the fight but he didnt win until 4:55 of the firdt round. Chuck made a mistake,like he has with his other fights.watch the rashaad fight both puncher were throwing at the same time,one connected the other missed chucks gaurd down. quinton fight chucks gaurd down again,shogun fight chucks gaurd down again getting clipped.Chuck hasnt fought smart and that was his down fall not that he couldnt but he always looked for the knock out. If you think chuck the best champion ever hasnt evolved take a reality check he has a impairment that he hs to have the knock out thats been his down fall.

Rich was looking square at Chuck's chin when he hit him. Chuck does blow Rich's power away. No one has disputed that. Chuck has fought the same way as day 1. Nothing has changed, hence, no evolving. Rashad straight up beat Chuck to the punch period. They both threw at the same time and Rashad landed first because it was quicker.


Bottom line is, Rich won the fight. Hell, Rich was still throwing the left even when he knew it was broken. What makes you think he would have been done in the 2nd? He took a few of Chuck's right hands that were supposed to KO Rich if they landed.

Chuck needed to stay out and now it shows. I really like Chuck and I think he is one of the greatest LHW fighters of all time, but the sport has passed him by. His camp can say all they want about this or that, but if they can't get him to do it, then there is nothing they can do about it.

And you don't have to win every second of every fight to be the better fighter.

It makes no sense that a champ is always getting knocked out,why you say because he isnt listening to his corner he wants things his way he doesnt listen and that is a mental problem in his head. Or do you think having a complete broken arm as rich did and it showed that he would of took chucks kicks and going to the ground if it went 3 rounds.

Here is the thing. Chuck is always fought like that. If his corner thought he should change, then they should have done that a long time ago. You can't ask a guy that has been fighting as long as him to change in his last 3 fights and expect immediate changes. He has fought 5 rounds with broken bones before. Many, many fighters do that. Forrest Griffin got his arm broke in a submisison and went on to knock the guy he was fighting out.

Actually I don't think Chuck should have won that fight. If that was the case, I would have picked him before it ever started. I thought all along that Rich was too smart of a fighter. Chuck has holes that have been exploited. It has nothing to do with bad luck. Rich said himself that he could see Chuck was putting way too much energy in the punches that he wasn't landing, so he had decided to let Chuck tire himself out. Rich also said that Chuck tends to over commit when he thinks he has guys in trouble. He saw this when Chuck was rushing in at the end of the round, and he said he knew he just had to stay in the pocket when he was doing this...resulting in the KO. Once again, no bad luck, just exploitation of a major flaw.

Chuck's angle was off and Rashad's wasn't. It sounds to me like Rashad was in the better position at the time? Either that or Rashad's punch knocked Chuck off angle?

When Sonnen fought Paulo Thiago and Thiago was talking to people in the ring and looking as if he was seeing ghosts....that's pshycological. Chuck just has holes.

Chuck's situation is that he is old and and can't take the shots anymore. And if you can't grasp that, then you are in for a long haul in this sport. Randy gives these guys a false sense of hope because he started at a late age and did very well. He is one in a few that will ever be able to do that. That's why it's so phenomenal that he has done what he has done. Chuck had a good run but it's over. Rich fought Chuck half that round with a broken arm. He got up off the ground after Chuck took him down with a broken arm. And he proceeded to KO chuck (Out cold laying on the floor) with a broken arm. Rich just can't get any credit for anything he has done. He has only been beaten by the best guys in the world and he still gets no credit. He knocked out Chuck (the KO artist) and gets no credit. It's kind of ridiculous that he does what he does and people don't consider him to be a top guy.

But while Chuck was in the hospital post fight, Rich was accepting his winnings for the fight including an 85k KO of the night bonus.....with a broken arm

Chuck was good in his day....But too many hits and now he just needs to chill. He has plenty of money...Maybe become a mentor for younger fighters.
