you explain to me then how a person as bj penn won the punch stat count in the fight but lost you tell me that then.he won on total punches landed in the entire fight but still lost and was the aggresser. so yeah the judges definitly conspired imo then. you even said bj won 2 rounds so how does a judge score 50-45. doesnt take a rocket scientist to know if a person wins the punch stat count in a fight then loses then there is something fishy going on.
MMA Judging isnt an exact science... the fact of the matter is Frankie was more agressive and looked like he wanted to win more..
BJ OBVIOUSLY DIDNT WANT TO WIN.. HE DIDNT EVEN LISTEN TO HIS CORNER WHEN THEY TOLD HIM TO GET MORE AGRESSIVE AND ALSO TAKE HIM DOWN.. How can you argue that???
I dont doubt BJ has great talent.. my knock with him is the fact that he doesnt always fight to his potential.. he was doing great for a while, but he's back to the wishy washy you never know what your going to get BJ penn.. I have a lack or respect for guys that get paid millions of dollars and dont give it 100%.. Fans deserve better...
i agree that penn pulled it out. this is an interesting break down of the strikes laned. the take downs shold not count at all if edgar did nothing with them. in japan a take down is worthless unless you gain control of the downed opponent and you either attempt a sub or do some damage.
I watched the fight again last night, and I have to say that watching it the second time knowing the strikes stats that BJ should have won that fight.....did the judge that scored it 50-45 even watch the thing??

Well, I am pretty sure that this decision will warrant an immediate rematch between the two....and I will have to say that Frankie's reign will be short lived.
