Not impressed this time.. WTF was that crap.. he was beating him and had to get all stupid with the showboating... I was a big Silva fan, but that shit really pissed me off.. I was rooting for Damien to whoop his ass at the end..
I hear Dana White is PISSED.. I cant wait to see what he has to say about it...

Yeah, Anderson is a freaking monster when he wants to be. There is no one that can touch him right now. I don't care who it is.
But after the third, I was getting pissed too. He acted like Maia was scared to engage, but he wouldn't engage Maia on the ground...what's the difference? I was rooting for Maia too. I was screaming at the tv for the ref to just stop and start deducting points. I agree with Joe Rogan in that he was tired. I think Anderson was tired and was trying to hide it.

Silva said that Maia had disrespected him pre-fight and that he was in there to beat him up. He did that and then made him look stupid too. He did what he set out to do. The thing about a more aggressive fighter beating him in the later rounds.....maybe. But a more aggressive fighter wouldn't have made it to the later rounds. Anderson could have ended that fight in the first if he wanted to.

I can accept that argument... maybe thats the way you beat him.. stay away from him the 1st couple rounds and let him get complacent
Maybe. He certainly wasn't the same Anderson the last 2 rounds that's for sure. Someone like Chael would have a good chance if he could weather the storm and get Anderson to get tired and then start taking him down. He is still a black belt in BJJ though.
I mean Anderson was breaking out some Capoeira. I mean come on....the guy knows more stuff than we will ever realize probably. He was acting like an idiot yesterday...but how many other guys are good enough to be able to do that?
On a side note...did you see how quickly Maia's eye swelled shut after he blew his nose?

Well, what they need to do is make him move to LHW where he will have some competition. No one poses a threat to him at MW and IMO, he is getting bored with it. Hell, let him fight HW if he wants to...anything to challenge him. Otherwise, you leave him at MW and this is what we get.

Here are Greg Jackson's comments on Anderson. I feel the same way with the beginning of the fight, but I somewhat disagree with his thoughts on the end of the fight.
Not everyone is down on Anderson Silva after the way he clowned around with Demian Maia at UFC 112 on Saturday.
Greg Jackson, regarded by many as the best coach in mixed martial arts, said in comments that aired on The Fight Show with Mauro Ranallo that he thought it was fun to watch Silva's mimicry in the cage in the early part of his fight with Maia. Jackson added that he thought Silva got a little tired from all the dancing he was doing and had to cruise through the second half of the fight, but Jackson didn't have a problem with that, either.
"I actually really enjoyed the first part of the fight, with Anderson changing up his style, like he would do Machida, then he would kind of do the Diaz brothers' thing, then Muhammad Ali," Jackson said. "I was actually very entertained with all the different styles that he was emulating as he was going after him. And then for the last half of the fight, I think he got so far ahead he played it smart, or he got tired. One way or the other, to me, it's not a disgrace at all. It was a fight and sometimes you look great and sometimes you have one with a little more grinding. But playing it smart or getting tired and not engaging because you're a little tired isn't a disgrace to me."
It's no surprise that Jackson would say that, because Jackson was one of the few people defending Silva after his lackluster bout against Thales Leites at UFC 97. Of the Silva-Leites fight, Jackson said, "I loved that fight; I thought it was so creative and interesting what he was doing. I really like Anderson."
I really like Anderson, too. But I liked him more against Forrest Griffin and James Irvin than I did against Thales Leites and Demian Maia.
