Once gsp gets hardy on the ground its over he will continue to keep taking hardy down.why do people seem to forget its about fighters putting there time in and getting a title shot that deserves it. koz has proven to get another shot. Hardy has not been in the ufc long enough to prove shit.Hardy is afraid of gsp's takedowns. The only way hardy has a chance if he connects or takes gsp down and keeps him down

Kos just fought Frank Trigg....there is no way in hell that you can go from fighting a loser has been to fighting for the title. That is the most retarded thing I have ever heard of. Hardy is undefeated in a division where GSP has beaten all the top contenders including Kos. Just because you have put your time in means nothing. Franklin could have stayed at MW for the rest of his career but do you think he would have ever gotten another title shot while Anderson is the champ? No, that is just the way it is. There is nothing we can do about it. I could see the argument that maybe Kos could have fought Hardy and the winner get a shot or something, but to say that Kos deserves it more than Hardy just because Hardy has been there as long is crap. If a veteran has been there for 6 years and has lost his last 3 out of 5 fights (one was an embarrassing KO) and then you have a newcomer that is undefeated in his last 7 fights and has walked through everyone that the UFC has put in front of him...the newcomer should get the shot. Koscheck was in line to get a shot and Thiago screwed that plan up. So if you are going to be mad at someone because Kos isn't getting the shot, be mad at Thiago.

Hardy just said in his article that he is excited about GSPs wrestling. How in the world does that translate to being scared of GSPs takedowns? Now you are just trying to make him look bad because Kos isn't fighting.

UFC 111's Georges St-Pierre on Dan Hardy: I want to take him out as quickly as I can | MMAjunkie.com

UFC 111's Georges St-Pierre on Dan Hardy: I want to take him out as quickly as I can
by John Morgan on Mar 03, 2010 at 12:30 pm ET
While UFC welterweight title challenger Dan Hardy (23-6 MMA, 4-0 UFC) continues to remain in the headlines due to ongoing verbal conflicts with some of his past opponents, the British slugger's date with Georges St-Pierre (19-2 MMA, 13-2 UFC) at UFC 111 later this month is fast approaching.

St-Pierre, the popular French-Canadian champion, hasn't yet found himself as much of a target for Hardy's famed trash talking, but that doesn't mean "The Outlaw" isn't firmly in the sites of "Rush."

"The longer a fight is, the more you can get hurt," St-Pierre recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio (MMAjunkie.com Radio | MMAjunkie.com). "I want to take him out as fast as I can and go home."

St-Pierre currently carries a six-fight win streak, and the 28-year old has fought into the championship rounds in three of those six fights. St-Pierre dominated the latter stages of each of those contests. Nevertheless, he said he has little desire to give Hardy a chance to connect on any of the powerful punches that have quickly become his hallmark in MMA.

And while many MMA observers have questioned Hardy's readiness for such a challenge, St-Pierre believes his own previous victories over many of the division's other top contenders make the Brit a perfect opponent.

"He deserves it," St-Pierre said. "He's undefeated in the UFC, and he's a great challenge for me. He's a top-10 guy, and we haven't fought yet. Most of the contenders at 170 pounds are guys I've already fought.

"It's a mathematics problem. It's a new problem that I'm going to solve. It's going to make me a better fighter. I'm going to grow from that."

St-Pierre has already dispatched the welterweight division's perennial top-three contenders in Thiago Alves, Jon Fitch, and Josh Koscheck, he avenged his lone career losses to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra, and he's beaten lightweight champion B.J. Penn twice. Because of his success at 170 pounds, many believe there are simply no challenges left in the welterweight division. But St-Pierre refuses to speculate where his next step might lead until after he's made it through his upcoming challenge.

"It all depends on the outcome of the fight," St-Pierre said. "I want to fight the best guy that deserves it. I don't want to fight for nothing.

"I'm the kind of guy that the reason why I fight mostly three times a year – I don't fight anymore five times a year – is that every time I fight, it's a big fight. I prefer it like this because I want to get the big fish. I want to get the best fighter. At the same time, it give me the opportunity to improve more between fights because I have more time to train. I become a better version all the time than the guy that I was in my last fight. That's why I like it that way."

And while most fans believe St-Pierre is a notch above Hardy, the Team Rough House product does own UFC wins over Mike Swick, Marcus Davis, Rory Markham and Akihiro Gono.

St-Pierre believes in the skills of his foe, and he knows that an impressive victory is necessary for him to reach his ultimate goal: to be the best.

"I always want to fight the best guys because I want to be the best," St-Pierre said. "By fighting the best guy, you improve more. I don't want to fight too often, but when I fight, I want to fight the best guy.

"I don't want to fight guys that don't deserve shots. I want to fight guys that are on top of the food chain, and when I fight, I want it to be worth it."

OFCOURSE GSP WILL SAY THAT ABOUT DAN ITS HIS NEXT FIGHT HE WILL SAY ANYTHING.AND KOZ JUST FOUGHT ANTHONY JOHNSON NOT FRANK TRIGG AND BEAT ANTHONY HANDS DOWN.YOU KNOW YOU KEEP SAY EMBARASSING I DO REMEMBER GSP GETTING KNOCKED THE FUK OUT BY MATT SERRA IN THE FIRST ROUND NOW THATS EMBERASSING THE CHAMP GSP WHEN GSP WASNT SUPPOSED TO LOSE BUT YOU WANT TO HARP ON KOZ'S LOSS TO THIAGO.HARDY FOUGHT 1 CONTENDER IN HIS LAST 4 FIGHTS BUT YOU MAKE HIM THE MAN WHO'S ONLY FOUGHT IN THE UFC 4 TIMES AND ONLY 1 CONTENDER IN SWICK. AND THIS IS ALL ABOUT YOU HATING KOZ BECAUSE YOU EVEN SAID IT WOULD OF BEEN BETTER FOR ANTHONY TO BEAT KOZ FOR THE DIVISION AND YOU THEN SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF ANTHONYS WEIGHT CUT HE LOST. NEVER HAS JOSH BEEN OUT OF SHAPE IN A FIGHT.

          KOZ WINS
Johnson was saying that Kos was faking all of the illegal strikes to get breathers. He said that Kos was looking for a way out. I still haven't seen the fight yet, but from what I have seen in the past, Kos was lucky he got by Johnson.

IMO, Johnson winning would have been better for the division than Kos winning. But it is what it is

I didn't mean the last fight. He fought Trigg period. Give me a break. Do you see the top guys fighting has beens? No. Anthony Johnson would have been better winning that fight because Kos will never beat GSP. GSPs loss was embarrassing....not as bad as Kos's though because KO ran his mouth bout how he was going to knock Thiago out and then Thiago knocked him out. It doesn't matter if he has only fought four times. When you come into the UFC and completely dominate your first few fights, you are going to be on the radar. Everyone knows that Anthony Johnson cuts a crap load of weight and that hurts you after a while. Josh is never out of shape, that is correct. But being in shape is not the only thing that makes a title contender.
