  • Houston Alexander vs Kimbo at Finale

It looks like Houston will be taking on Kimbo at the finale. Think we will see Kimbo get KO'd??

In a move that could strengthen the case for his rumored fight against Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale, Houston Alexander will soon apply for a fighter license with the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Ferguson was knocked out of the first round of "The Ultimate Fighter 10," which is currently airing on Spike TV, by Roy Nelson in episode No. 3.

Some reports suggested Ferguson (3-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) would fight Alexander (9-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) at UFC 107 in Tennessee, but MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) reported earlier this month that Ferguson is instead expected to compete at the TUF 10 Finale a week prior.

MMAjunkie.com has learned that Alexander formally will apply for a license (in the special 35-and-older category) at a Nov. 4 NSAC hearing at the Grant Sawyer State Office Building in Las Vegas.

The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale is slated for Dec. 5 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The event airs on Spike TV, and considering he's the driving force for this season's ratings records, Ferguson is expected to compete on the night's main card to help bolster rating for the live broadcast.

Alexander, a stand-up fighter with a steadily improving ground game, recently took a fight outside the UFC after three consecutive losses in the octagon. Alexander easily disposed of one-time UFC fighter Sherman Pendergarst in the co-main event of Adrenaline MMA IV in September with a first-round TKO. In fact, all but one of his nine pro wins have ended via strikes.

While the show's producers hinted at the possibility of Ferguson re-entering the "TUF 10" tournament field as an injury replacement, recent episodes have suggested that won't be the case.

The former bare-knuckle brawler and YouTube sensation was the biggest star of the now-defunct EliteXC promotion. Although eventually upset by late replacement by Seth Petruzelli at an October 2008 show, Ferguson remained a draw. However, he turned down potentially lucrative offers from major Japanese organizations and regional promotions in the U.S. to compete on "TUF." However, unlike his castmates, a hefty (non-"TUF") contract awaits him after the show.

The UFC has not officially announced an Alexander vs. Ferguson fight, but at least two spots remain on the TUF 10 Finale's televised main card. Matt Hamill vs. Jon Jones and Frankie Edgar vs. Kurt Pellegrino have already been announced as televised fights, and the two show finalists will take a third spot. That leaves a spot for Alexander vs. Ferguson if signed.

    MAIN CARD
    •Matt Hamill vs. Jon Jones
    •Frankie Edgar vs. Kurt Pellegrino
    •Finalist No. 1 vs. Finalist No. 2
•Houston Alexander vs. Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson*

    PRELIMINARY CARD
    •Dennis Hallman vs. John Howard
    •Brian Stann vs. Rodney Wallace
    •Mark Bocek vs. Matt Veach

Oh yeah, if Seth KO'd Kimbo with a rabbit jab, Houston will knock his block off! Houston has some of the heaviest hands in the UFC. He is not top level as far as skill but if he lands, you are probably going to sleep!

BUT MY POINT IS EVERYONE GETS CAUGHT AND SETH CAUGHT KIMBO. AND HOUSTON ISNT THAT ALL GOOD. I'M SURE HE HAS POWER BUT I HOPE KIMBO COMES INTO SHAPE WITH A GOOD GAME PLAN. I THINK KIMBO IS TO OLD TO DO THIS STUFF BUT GOOD FOR HIM TO GET ON THE SHOW AND TRY AND MAKE SOME MONEY

Yeah, but most people get caught with good shots. He is not that much more ready now other than the TUF stuff. You are right, Houston isn't that good...but neither is Kimbo. At least Houston has beat UFC competition. Their ground games will be about equal (neither of them have one), and I would give Houston the edge on power with their standup abilities being pretty close. All I said was that if Seth can KO him, Houston can for sure KO him.

Dude, what is it with you defending guys who just flat out suck? Chuck Liddell has been, As per you, "Caught" every fight where got KO'd. Kimbo got "Caught" by Seth. Jay Cutler is a little "off" because it's early in the season. Rex Grossman was a little "Off" at every start for the Bears. Kyle Orton was a little "Off" as well. Greg Olsen is a little "Off". That's why he's dropping passes.
How about saying "Chuck is fukking old. He sucks now, and should hang it up."

educate your self on mma and chucks fights and look how he got caught every time and all fighters get caught,Go watch his fights and make sure you watch him drop his gaurd when he gets caught. He keeps lowering his hands and has had that problem for awhile now. Keep saying chuck sucks chuck does not suck and is still a very powerful fighter and still can compete. He is the best l-heavyweight fighter ever and chuck made the ufc what it is today. He is the face of the ufc.Ive always said he likes to party to much needed to come into better shape and switch camps a long time ago and switch training style.I forgot you were mr know it all with sports. Cutler doesnt suck rex is doing vwell and so is orton and the football season isnt even over yet.Well atleast i'm a positive person. Why dont you get in the ring with chuck and say he sucks.

Sure, Grossman is doing well. He's a 3rd stringer in Houston. That's well?
Educate myself on MMA? I been watching MMA since UFC 1. Before it was a sport, I was watching it. When guys like you thought UFC meant "Underneath Flight Compartment". I just like to call a spade a spade. I don't like to sugar coat anything. Chuck gets paid to fight. I never said he wasn't what made UFC what it is today. I never said Chuck wasn't good at one time. I'm saying now, that Chuck has been "Caught" so many times, it's not even exciting to watch him fight anymore. That's like saying "Iron Mike Tyson is still the best Heavyweight fighter today. He's just been caught in his past few fights." There comes a time when a fighter needs to face reality, and say "I'm not what I was before. Maybe it's time to wrap it up". Look at Jens Pulver. I love the guy. If he retires, he's still well respected and well loved. If he hangs around for another 5 fights, and keeps getting his ass handed to him, people may lose a little more respect for him. But of course, in your eyes, it would just be "Unfortunate losses where he got caught with his neck exposed, and his jaw exposed, and his arm exposed...."

chuck and randy both need to hang up the gloves. the sport is evolved and there is no room for dinosaurs. they made the sport what it is today but I agree how can u be in the hall of fame with a 16 and 16 record... hypothetically speaking.

Not one bit in my eyes go watch the fights he dropped his gaurd every friggin time he got caught and has admitted that he has a problem doing that and his camp has tried to get him to keep his hands up. And who cares how long you have been watching it that doesnt mean your educated on the subject or the sport. You said chuck sucks bottom line he doesnt. Like you said if he sucks get in the ring with him then tell me if he sucks. Wow you compare mike tyson mr ive abused drugs and has issues in his head and you want to compare tyson to chuck or jens to chuck. Way bad example. Lets see tyson raped a girl spent years in jail, hmmm I wonder if that screwed him up. tyson who bite the ear off evander hmm I wonder if that screwed him up.Tysons issues in his head screwed up his boxing career and if he was a normal guy he would of held the belt way longer.

chuck and rampage chuck got caught with his hands down and got clipped
jardine took him way to lightly
                    chuck beat wandy good

chuck won the first round with rashaad then both were throwing a punch and rashaads landed first, and look where chucks gaurd was hmmm

first round with mauricio chuck was winning then got caught watch the video hands were down.
