We went back and watched it again as well and the first two rounds were just too close. Round 3 was for sure Machida. And rounds 4 and 5 were for sure Shogun. We actually counted more strikes from Machida the second time we watched it...the freaking announcers get on my nerves man. The second time we watched it, we counted how many strikes or counter strikes Machida had compared with how many times they were called by the announcers....and the number was very small.

We did the same for Shogun and they were just blowing Shogun...I mean they were hanging on his nuts all night. I'm not saying that he wasn't landed shots, but they were clearly biased in there commentating. Hell, in the first two rounds, Machida blocked or countered almost everything Shogun threw but you would never know that by listening to them.

As far as the the two fighters go...I am happy with either one coming out on top. I really like both fighters....especially Shogun.

Shogun was the aggressor he kept going after machida. that first round was all shogun. So what was the total of kicks and punchs between each fighter.All the fans saw the same fight we saw and the majority knew shogun won and even joe rogan wasnt beating around the bush and thats why he said to machida will there be a rematch because he knew the judges were wrong.

Well, the judges knowing Machida's style probably wouldn't see all of that as being aggression though. Well, Rogan was biased the whole fight, so I am not even taking into consideration any of his comments. I am surprised he could talk with Shogun's balls all in his mouth!!

We had Machida landing about 40% of his strikes and Shogun landing about 50% of his strikes. The problem with these numbers are that about 35% of Shoguns strikes were kicks. Now these kicks are scored as strikes landed whether they were checked or not. Machida was checking them at the end of the fight. Add that with the fact that they don't score as much because many fighters use them to falsely portray that they are really landing huge shots because of the sound.

If you go strictly by shots landed (no matter if they were blocked or not) then Shogun won the fight. I am not arguing that he didn't win. I am just saying that Shogun allowed the fight to be too close to convincingly take the belt. You can't do that against a champ. You almost have to overwhelmingly beat the crap out of a reigning champ to get the belt.
