    Tibau puts Neer on his keester 10 times




    Josh Neer and Gleison Tibau were brothers in arms at yesterday's UFC 104 weigh-in. Both fighters missed the lightweight limit. That's about all they have in common. Tibau is a ground specialist while Neer is a banger on the feet. For the second straight fight, Neer couldn't stay off the deck. He wasn't there for very long in any those instances but when it's 10 times, the judges had to give Tibau the edge. The Brazilian, who trains out of American top Team in South Florida, also scored several big slams on those takedowns. In all, he nailed 10-of-12 takedowns. It was more than enough to get a unanimous decision (29-28 and 30-27 on two cards).
    Neer threw more punches on the feet but never landed anything huge. It was actually Tibau who landed the heavier shots. Neer, who was tabbed for this fight on late notice, threw way too many slapping punches. He also made himself an easy takedown target by constantly walking straight forward and flat-footed.

    I have no clue how Tibau gets to 155!!! Neer is a banger on his feet but he is very good on the ground too. I just couldn't get over the way he was throwing Neer around like a sack of potatoes!! That was great.

    Has anyone hear if Neer's leg was broken or not? He hurt it in the first and that is one reason he was so tentative I think. Neer is usually a in your face banger no matter who it is.

      I watched the first round and at the end of the round josh grabbed his shin and made a face like he was in alot of pain so he did do something to it. But for tibua not being able to keep josh down. All this was a take down fight. He won on his take downs and not being able to do anything while josh was down. bull shit lame fight tibau looked awful

        You know, I have never seen a fight where Tibau looked good.

          tibau did nothing with the takedowns that he won with.

          thats why i like japanaese judges. they dont count a takedown unless the fighter moves to a beter position or does damage with G&P.

          in the USA a takedown counts. stupid. its like setting up an armbar and not finishing it. the takedown should be the setup to a sub or G&P
