Nog gets next HW title shot!

According to reports, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will be getting the next shot at the UFC Heavyweight Championship:

Inside Fights has confirmed a Wrestling Observer Newsletter report that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will face the winner of the Nov. 21 Brock Lesnar/Shane Carwin fight.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, who is coming off an impressive victory over Randy Couture, will have to put his desire for a rematch with Frank Mir on hold, since it seems that he will be getting the next shot against the winner of Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin. No date or event has been announced yet, but they say that it will probably happen early 2010.

This should be a good one. Nog is known for being in some battles so he won't go out easily. And he is VERY aggressive with his BJJ. Can't wait.

this doesn't look promising.... brock will throw him a beating. unless he gets caught in something. hopefully carwin will be champ by then because brock is a total douche bag....he is disrespectful and has a terrible attitude. I actually hope he dies. for some one who is a ncaa all american he doesnt use any of his skills in the ring... he throws hammer fist and bum rushes people because he outweighs everyone by 60 pounds.

for some one who is a ncaa all american he doesnt use any of his skills in the ring

oh he didnt take mir down 2x in the 2nd fight and get on his back and in the first fight,or hearing using his wrestling skills against him.and taking randy down and knocking him out.He punched randy and good night he went with more hammer fists. I hate gsp but I know he's a great fighter and brock is on the same path.

I have to disagree on the speed factor. Nog has better speed than Mir...don't judge the speed factor by the Mir/Nog fight. Nog had staph infection and that was not the Nog of old.


I actually think Nog has a better chance of beating Brock than Carwin. Nog is almost impossible to KO and he has a very aggressive guard. And we all know it will go to the ground.


Here is the thing with Brock. The more fights he has the more likely it is that he will be beat. The more tapes that guys have to watch on him with different fighters, the more knowledge they achieve for the right gameplan. It happens year after year. A fighter will come in and dominate for so long, and then finally someone figures out a gameplan to beating him....then once a gameplan works, other fighters come along and beat him too (Example: Liddell, Hughes, Franklin, Tim Sylvia, etc...)

Exuses...nope. Fact. If you think that was the same Nog, you have really been affected by watching only the UFC.

Did I say that everyone has him figured out? Nope. Read my post again. What I said was, the longer you fight, the more tape people have to figure you out. Fighters don't just "change" the way they fight on a whim.

Nog is almost impossible to KO, everyone that has been a fan of MMA (not just the UFC) has seen the freaking WARS that Nog has been in. He is known for being able to take huge shots and keep fighting. Do you know why Herring let him up? Because he knew that Nog is dangerous as hell on the ground (even when you think you have him hurt) and he didn't want to chance being submitted. He actually did the smart thing.

What the hell does younger and stronger mean to speed? Speed comes from natural ability and and body mechanics...some people have speed and some people don't. Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans are younger and stronger than Anderson Silva...do you think they are faster than him?

I am sorry that everyone doesn't think that Brock is the best thing that ever happened to MMA Fuzo, but there are many guys out there that have the talent to beat him.
