proud moment for me

    proud moment for me

    I earned my BJJ blue belt.

    i am still in the middle of the pack rank wise in my class but there is only one guy (besides my instructor) that can submit me. I wouldnt call myself good, i guess I never feel like I earned a new rank.

    took almost 2 years and only missing 5 available classes.

    if the doors were open, jipped was there.

    except when i had my broke nose fixed and vacation

    i told myself i would earn my blue belt then focus on my thai boxing, boxing and wrestling for a year and then try to get a real MMA fight.

    i am just really proud right now. my coach dosnt hand these out easily. there are folks who have been there longer but are lower rank because they havent pushed themselves like i did

    How do the colors go? and, what martial art did you earn that belt in?

      That is awesome man!!! I was getting close before my divorce and that drives me crazy every time I think about it. I have been there and know how much hard work it takes to get it. That is a great accomplishment man!! Just think....3-4 more years and you could get to Black Belt!!

            congrats bro that is a great accomplishment and the martial art is brazilian jujitsu. I would love to get into this if we had a gym near this small freaking town i live in

                  thanks guys. i am real proud.

                  my coach said a blue in BJJ is alot like a black in karate or TKD when you break it down by move. i guess its because BJJ is so much more complex than the striking arts and there is nothing intuitive about it. tell a guy to punch or kick, he will. but tell a guy to apply a triangle it aint gonna happen

                  i am not knocking any other martial art mind you. i would venture to guess anyone who does multiple disiplines would agree?

                  i just feel proud, many cant understand the blood and sweat (and there has been plenty of both) that go into martial art training
