Not exactly but very close!! They both were very highly ranked collegiate wrestlers. The speed is going to end up being Brock's downfall if not used correctly. Although, it seems that he has settled down a bit. But the thing is, with Carwins wrestling and strength, I don't think it will matter if he gets taken down.

Everyone thought his size and stength is what would beat Randy too, but the smaller Randy actually out wrestled the larger Brock.

That only tells me that he is way too good to be fighting those guys. What you didn't show was the time it took him to beat them which obviously shows that he has talent.

Let me give a run down on the time it took to finish those fights:

Sure the names aren't big, but he is walking through these guys. I'm not saying he will walk through Brock, but I think he will test Brock more than he has been tested before. I mean these wins he has are not just lucky punch KOs either. He also has 4 wins by submission. 2 KOs by one punch. A TKO by kick...I mean come on now. Even though he doesn't have a laundry list of big names on his record, he has shown to be more well rounded than Brock. He is the same size basically. He is probably just as quick coming from the same background. He has shown to have more power than Brock. He has bigger hands than the infamous "lunchboxes" that Brock has. It will be a good fight. I think it will much closer than people think.

Guys have to start out somewhere. If Brock hadn't been a money draw from the WWE then his list would look similar. That doesn't mean anything as far as "can Carwin beat Lesnar" though.

I know it is two different kinds of wrestling but with the size and strength advantage that Brock was supposed to have, the style shouldn't have mattered. Wrestling, not matter what aspect you are trained in, is about leverage. Brock should have been able to get the better end of the deal with his strength. Carwin will be much stronger than Randy, almost as strong as Brock, so leverage will be harder to come by with Carwin.

Too many people write Gonzaga off as not being a top fighter. Gonzaga is a beast. Yeah, Randy beat him, but Gonzaga's own knee broke his nose early in that fight. Had that not happened, that fight would probably have gone differently. For Carwin to beat Gonzaga, that is a feat. Gonzaga is a much more well rounded fighter than Brock. I think Carwin takes this one.

Also, just fyi, the only differnce between Grecco Roman wrestling and freestyle, is the fact that attacks below the waist are not allowed in Grecco and they are in freestyle. Grecco is more about throws, arm drags, etc...which Randy couldn't do on Brock because of his size....therefore, the different style should have had much effect on Brock assuming that his strength was really that much of an advantage....in which Randy said in an interview that Brock was not the strongest guy he had ever fought in the UFC>

Okay, I'll agree with that. Excellent is a strong word. Anderson Silva has excellent hands, Brock doesn't.

Wait a minute...I just watched that fight. Gonzaga rocked Carwin after 3 solid shots before he took him down. Of course he could take him down easy if he was rocked. Did you not see the part where Carwin stood right up with Gonzaga on top of him? When Gonzaga gets any kind of mount on you and you can stand right up, you have done something! Gonzaga is a beast when he is on top. Then after standing up, he dropped him with one shot! I guess we interpret fights differently, but that showed that Carwin has a chin, has strength, and has power. He got caught...but he didn't get finished. I am glad I watched that again now.

This is not even going to be close. Pure hype on this one. Lesnar is going to destroy Carwin. Carwin has not yet been out of the first round and that is going to work against him in this if Lesnar doesn't pound his face in by the end of round 1. Carwin will have to use everything he's got once it goes to the ground. Round 2 = exhausted.

Gonzaga is far from a beast when he is on top. When's the last time he's beat anyone with his hands outside of that chubby, glass chin, no standup game Josh Hendricks.

If your a betting person, load up before the odds get up to -300. This is as much of a lock as was Anderson v Forrest and Machida v Evans. Less than 1% chance for Carwin.

Come on Fuzo....you know I know a little more about this stuff than that. Even though I think Carwin has a better shot at beating Brock than anyone right now, it is not something that I would bet on. Brock is a handful and it will take the right game plan to beat him. I just think that Carwin "can" beat him.

I know about the technique, but once you have a size advantage that big, technique gets thrown out the window for the most part...i.e. GSP/BJ. GSP just has too much size on BJ now.(I know I know, why bring that up AGAIN...but it really is a good example for size vs technique). Grecco is standing but has throws and takedowns as well.

Anyway, stop messing up my argument here man
