Antonio Rogerio Nogueira To UFC
by Brent Todd
During a conference call with Randy Couture and Antonio Nogueira in preparation for their UFC 102 fight, a caller asked Nogueira if we would see his younger brother, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (Little Nog), in the UFC. Nogueira didn't hesitate and said that his brother and the UFC have been in discussions and that it was a done deal.
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has amassed a record of 17-3 in his eight-year career. He is currently riding a five-fight win streak and holds notable victories over Vladimir Matyushenko, Alistair Overeem, and Dan Henderson.
American fans most recently saw Little Nog compete at "Affliction: Day of Reckoning" where he avenged the first loss of his career against Vladimir Matyushenko.
While the UFC light heavyweight division is already extremely stacked, the addition of Little Nog will have an immediate impact inside the division. While no official announcement has been made with regards to the signing, look for one in the near future.
