Brock made a statement that mirs belt he holds now id just a make beleive belt the com[any had made up.lets face it brock did beat randy so his belt is legit.If brock doesnt get caight in a submission he will win.Bt frank mir saying shit about brock is just plain stupid frank knows he got lucky getting the ankle and he wants to talk shit.when frank fought anthony hardon who is this guy a nobody right. and the nogera fight where was nogera because he didnt show up plus it was stopped a little early by the ref.even dana white said frank shouldnt stand up with brovk because he knows if brock connexts with those huge paws nighty night frank

I disagree. Frank used to be one of the best submission guys in the sport. And he's still an excellent submission specialist. I think Frank had no idea what to expect in the first fight, and was overwhelmed. This fight, he knows what to expect, and will take it to the ground fast. I say he nets a 1st round submission.

I am going with Mir again. Anthony Hardonk is not a nobody and Nog just got beat. You can say that he didn't show up or whatever, but the bottom line is he got beat. If that's the case then you could say that Randy made a dumb decision by not working on Brock's reach in training and that is the only reason Brock won.

Anyway, I agree with Angryoldman. Nobody knew what to expect from Brock when Mir fought him the first time. It is hard to train for a guy like that. The ankle lock was not lucky...the ankle lock was BEAUTIFUL!!! It's not like Mir was lying on the ground and all of the sudden there was Brock's leg. Mir set that up perfectly with a beautiful transition and absolutely perfect hip movement. Mir has always been great at the ground game.

Mir has really been working on his standup too. I think Mir is smart enough to know that the fight needs to go to the ground. Brock might try to keep it standing but I see him trying to slam Mir and GnP him and I think that will work out in another submission for Mir. You can train and train submission defense, but it will never make up for all of the years that Mir has on Brock in BJJ.

I just hope the refs don't get stupid and stop the fight quickly if it goes to the ground. Brock has a bad habit of throwing many strikes and it looks like he is really beating the crap out of his opponent but in reality his ground strikes have nothing on them like his standup.

As easily as Randy was controlling Brock in their fight (not saying it was easy, just saying that Randy did a good job) against the cage and takedown, I actually think Mir can get Brock to the ground.

With all this being said, I can see it going either way. Brock has the power for the stoppage but I think Mir has more tools to win, and that is why I am pulling for him.

This is going to be a great fight, these are 2 beast going at each other. Mir did not know what to expect in the 1st fight, who could when you go against a monster like Brock but the great thing about MMA is that you can adapt to things changing and that is what Mir did in the 1st fight and got the victory. Brock has evolved as a fighter and will pose a serious threat against Mir who I think will win again, Mir is coming back from serious injuries and dedicated himself again to fighting.

Wrong. We just watched it. You can see Mir setting his hips up way before he got the leg...which was a knee bar and not an ankle lock that won. We had a huge discussion about this on another board. Brock hit Mir in the back of the head at least 3 times. Brock didn't step into the leg lock man. Mir spun and scissored his leg controlling it and then wrapped up the ankle. When Lesnar went down and rolled, Mir turned it into a knee bar. it was textbook. Yeah Lesnar was inexperienced, but Mir got that all on his own. So whenever a fighter gives up his back and gets choked one out of ten times....did the fighter walk into the choke, or was his opponent just good enough to get it?

Fuzo, I wrote in an above post that you were wrong. That was a bad choice of words because everyone sees things differently. As a BJJ guy, I saw him setting that up before anything happened. I actually called it when I saw him set his hips. That is why i think that it was Mir's BJJ that got it and not that Brock stepped into it. The guys at my house watching it all saw it coming before it happened.

tn94z agree with the setup. he actually seems to setup his opponents most propable move and that is why he is so good. mir is an awesome BJJ guy. it is easier to learn how to avoid subs than it is to apply them proplery. i think brock will power through mirs attempts.

brocks arms are safe he is too powerful for an armbar or a triangle but his legs are still there and if mir can take his back he still needs air to function

I am also curious to see if Brock's cardio is better. Randy showed that his cardio wasn't up to par when they fought. Brock was breathing hard at the beginning of the 2nd. All I know is I can't wait to see the fight and I hope the ref doesn't make a stupid call!!
