UFC President, Dana White has revealed that if former UFC heavyweight champion, Josh Barnett can defeat Fedor Emelianenko on August 1st at Affliction: Trilogy, he will look to bring him back to the octagon.
Speaking at the UFC 99 Q & A session for UFC Fight Club members, Dana said:
“If Josh Barnett beats Fedor, obviously I'd be interested in signing Josh Barnett. If he beat Fedor, obviously, he's one of the best in the world.”
Barnett captured the UFC heavyweight crown in 2002, defeating Randy Couture but he was swiftly stripped of the title after testing positive for steroids. He continued his career in Japan for the following four years.
