    machida has supirior footwork. this allows him to move in and out, deliver punishment and move away while taking very little or none.

    this is his winning factor. the question is if taken down how will he do against a really good wrestler with nasty GnP like rampage

      I think he will do well. He is well versed in Japanese wrestling and he is a BJJ Black belt. I don't think Rampage will be able to get in on him to take him down.

      I really like Rampage because he is a hometown boy. With that being said, I think he has one thing and that is power. He can KO you standing and has big TDs and GnP. But he is not as fast as Lyoto. He has no ground game whatsoever and looks lost on his back. He doesn't execute kicks very much or very well. Timing is one thing, but getting close enough to take Lyoto down is another. Lyoto uses his kicks perfectly and that just adds to his reach basically. I think Rashad had the much better game to beat Lyoto than Rampage does. I also don't think Rampage is patient enough to beat Lyoto. He will be sucked into Machida's game very quickly.

      Get ready folks, this is Machida's era and it will last for a while!!!

        Just becuase Machida is a better fighter than Rashad, doesnt mean Rashad isn't better than Chuck.

          I also hate Machida, but he is really good and will be there for a while. I just don't like his sit and wait style, annoys me.

            Sit and wait?? You must not have seen his last few fights. He has been the aggressor in his last few fights....so technically his opponents have been playing the sit and wait game.

              maybe, but hes a counter fighter, and I just dont like him for some reason, I dont know how to explain it, just dont.

                He is a counter fighter. I understand. His style is not for everyone, I agree. Me on the other hand...I absolutely love it!!!! If I could pick one style that I would want to be like, it would be him!! You never lose a round, you never get caught with power shots, you never take any damage, and you win the fights by finishing them. How can it get any better?

                  I think brody wants to say its boring to be a counter fighter and just sit back and wait. we all ant fast action stuff but then when someone comes in with that style and slows it down we as fans dont like it.Funny I look back on rasheds fights and he got lucky with some of them

                    He is getting better though. He is much more aggressive than he used to be. What about Anderson Silva? He has almost the exact same fighting style. Chuck Liddell is also a counter puncher. Kenny Florian has turned into the same style fighter. I think it is just that many of these guys are now realizing the potential of this style. I think we will see many more fighters go this route.
